Review: On Friday, 11/22, at 4:23pm, I called Sentry Home Inspections, LLC. The company was the first on a list I was sent from a home purchase program I am using. I called to get basic information on their availability and price they would charge for their service. The receptionist asked for the address of the property. Having no idea what this information was required for, I provided the address. Sentry then sent me a form - via email - that had all sorts of terms laid out regarding an agreement. I did not sign the form. Tonight, 11/25/13, at 4:51 pm, I called Sentry to speak with [redacted]. I had gotten quotes from other inspection companies and wanted to ask [redacted] if he could match those quotes. The receptionist ([redacted]?) then told me - at 5pm - that if I did not cancel an appointment (i had no idea an appointment was made for me) - scheduled for 3pm the next day, I would still be charged. This was at 5pm today. I did not officially have an appointment, was still calling to get more information, and now I was being told that if I didn't cancel two hours in the past, I would be charged. This behavior of the secretary is ridiculous, confusing, and unprofessional. Nothing was communicated clearly - and I was still shopping around when I called her today.Desired Settlement: If Sentry tries to charge me for an appointment I did not make ($300) then I would like the funds to be refunded to me. This company is taking advantage of people who are calling around for information. I was never told that I had an appointment and that there was this cancellation policy. I have signed nothing with them.
