Review: The elevators at The Village at Sherman Oaks go out every few weeks on average, sometimes every week. There are only two elevators in each of the two towers. There are hundreds and hundreds of residents that live in each tower. The old people line up with their walkers and wait and wait to go up or down to get their meals or leave the premises. Two working elevators are barely enough for all the residents especially since the walkers take up so much room. One elevator is out at least twice a month. It then takes days to fix. If the elevator goes out on the weekend which it often does, nothing is done until the weekend is over. The Village at Sherman Oaks has no medical staff so when a person doesn't feel well, the staff calls 911. It is just a matter of time until someone literally dies waiting for an elevator to come. The ambulance workers wait for the elevators like everyone because that is how they transport the seniors to the hospital. I have spoken with the staff at the facility in Sherman Oaks but they have no authority to do anything. All decisions are made at the corporate office. I have spoken to [redacted] at Senior Resource Group that owns this and many other senior living facilities the on numerous occasions. He is well aware of the problem. They have a contract with an elevator company that gets paid whether the elevators work or not. No one is motivated to spend the money to actually fix whatever is w[redacted]g with the elevator. It is marketed as a first class facility. They charge first class prices but they provide sub standard services.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Repair

Something is very wrong with the old ones they have. Elevators should not go out so often. They don't work almost as often as they do. I lived in an elevator building for years that never went out other than for standard maintenance.I have complained about this for over a year as have many of the residents but n
