Review: First tells me I can pick up the item today, the day after I had a willing bid on the car at [redacted]. Seller stated he had a doctor's appointment and I could pick the car up at noon. Next, the seller calls less than an hour later and tells me the item is [redacted] with someone else looking at it and that I should pay the deposit. So, I pay the $500 deposit required- and then around 5pm tonight sellers tells me the item has a "gas leak" and they will not be selling it. Very unhappy, and I feel like I was flat out lied to. When I asked for my refund back- the seller told me they would refund me within 24 hours. Now, the seller has threatened I gave them positive feed on [redacted] or they will not refund my $500 deposit. This seller is a nightmare! I just want my $500 deposit back now!Desired Settlement: I'd like my $500 deposit back.

Dear [redacted],This is in reference to Case ID [redacted]The winning bidder did win the vehicle on [redacted] at 9:30pm. The next day she wanted to come the next day and I wanted to accommodate her as soon as possible but had an appointment in the morning. We also stipulate on [redacted] to give us 24 hours advance notice before picking up the vehicle. The owner also had the vehicle at another location the previous day showing it to a potential customer before the auction ending and had to transport it back to our location. Upon transporting it the check engine light came on.The car was leaking gas which is not a problem but the cabin was being filled with fumes in which I alerted her to the concerning issue right away feeling that it would be unsafe to drive, and stated that we would refund her money but we still needed to have the vehicle checked out by a mechanic. She said we were lying and she still wanted her vehicle. We gave her time to respond as well as to come see the vehicle for herself but we did not get any answer from her at all. As of current she has been refunded her $500 deposit. And I have attached the copy as proof.Thank you

I am rejecting this response because:Seller makes it seem as though they easily gave refund. Refund process took major [redacted] dispute to receive refund. Seller held refund hostage until [redacted] dispute was open because they wanted to receive good feedback. Story that they gave on what was wrong with the car was not the same story I was given over the phone. Seller's behavior about car and saying come check it out changed after $500 payment was given. As I live far away from the seller- I simply requested they just give me my refund back. Had seller given me refund back as they told me I needed to give them the payment- and quickly changed story- I would have given them positive feedback for not causing such a hassle.
