Let me start off by saying we were so excited about our new granite counter tops! We had Magellan come out and give us an estimate and later we went down to their headquarters on School Street to pick out our granite We were given an excellent deal on granite by Baja, the owner He was nice and informative We accepted the bid and scheduled for AugustAugust 5, two men arrived to install our granite The trouble started when one of the installers began drilling the faucet hole in our granite and forgot to put the filter on vacuum The entire house filled with granite dust No apologies, no explanation I spent several hours cleaning dust from ALL rooms of our home It also cost us new filters which were loaded with dust I had the house cleaned days before this, including deep dusting- sigh We had just had luxury vinyl flooring installed days before the counter tops came in My husband was standing in the kitchen explaining that the refrigerator needed to be moved carefully when one of the workers briskly twisted our refrigerator tearing a huge hole in the vinyl They also moved the stove and left holes in the vinyl shortly before the frig- not sure they even noticed this The worker said loudly, I thought it was *** wood- ugh! Well, stuff happens I guess The part that really got us is the wait to have our floor fixed We did not hear anything for almost a week After calling them several times we finally got the message that Bawas turning it over to his insurance The insurance adjuster finally came out and the floor was installed Sept 21stMy husband and I had to move a lot of furniture out of our kitchen, including a barrel table, liquor cabinet that contained liquor bottles and a wine cabinet which contained bottles of wine This was the second time moving all of this!
Lastly, the promised "cutting board" they offer you This has been a huge bone of contention We have yet to receive it even after asking about it several times Sept 30th, 2015- it may sound petty but it was something my husband was looking forward to!
We did receive a call from Magellan this afternoon asking for the other half of our payment for the granite since our floor was reinstalled I really wanted to give Baja, Select Marble and Granite a chance to redeem themselves I would have been happy with a personal phone call apologizing for the issues we had or 10-20% discount We got nothing I cannot and will not recommend this company to anyone
