My letter is in regard to a haircut that I performed in October of 2016, ID of ***A new guest stopped in and asked if we had time for a wahaircutRhonda scheduled her in with me later on that day because neither of us had time when she stoppedThe guest came back and I consulted with
her about what her likes and dislikes were with the haircut she hadI was confident I knew what she was looking for after the consultationShe stated that she wanted it long up front with no layers and short, layered and stacked in the backSo I asked her to move to the shampoo chair so we could wash her hairBack in the hairstyling chair, I sectioned her hair at the occipital bone, I started at the nape of her neck, cutting the length of her hair, and she told me she could tell it wasn't short enoughI informed her that I had only cut the length and when I got into the layers it would be shorter and start looking like what she wantedI then started to cut the layers and she told me it was still not short enough, and that she needed to go grab a magazineI told her I would take the layers shorter, so I performed that part of the haircut againShe still insisted on getting a magazine because it was not short enoughI paused the haircut and looked through haircut magazines with her, so I could get a better idea of what we needed to changeWe couldn't find a picture of the back of a head in the magazines, so I found some pictures on my phoneWe browsed through some pictures and she stopped me when I found one that was a very short dipper cut from occipital bone to napeI told her that section would be a clipper cut and she said that was fine because her hair grew very fastI then asked her if she wanted it blended in or if she was looking for more of a heavy weight line above the clipper cut section and she stated that she wanted it blendedI put the guard on my clippers for accurate length and shaved the section that I had sectioned offI then took down the next section and started stacking out so that the hair gradually got longer at the topI finished the rest of the haircut, and styled her hair with my blow-dryer and a round brush and then I used my flatironShe asked me a few questions about how to use a flatiron, because she had one and didn't use itI answered her questions making her excited to be able to use her flatiron in the futureI then handed her the hand mirror, so she could see the back of her hairShe looked at the back of her hair in the mirror and ran her hand up the back of her head and was very happy with how it lookedAt checkout she was very pleased, and took my business card with my scheduled days and hours on itShe paid with a check and tipped me, and I thanked her and she thanked me back while still checking her hair out in the mirror. The next day, Rhonda called to tell me she had called the salon and left a message saying she was not very happy that I had shaved her head, but that there was no number to call backI then found her negative review on our facebook page, and saw that Rhonda had replied that we could take care of it in a better fashionShe never called back to leave a number that we could reach her.Thank you for your time,Hilary S*________This letter is in regards to haircut that was performed in October of 2016, ID of ***Our new guest stopped in to see if we had time for a wahaircutI informed her that we did not have time at the moment, but that Hilary would have time later, if she wanted to schedule to come back. She agreed to the scheduled timeOn her way out, she noticed my antique lamps by the front door had some broken chimesShe said she had those pieces at home that she could bring back with her, and asked to trade a haircut for those antique lamp replacement piecesI declined, as our haircuts are $30, and there were only broken piecesShe asked if I would pay a dollar a piece and I said that's fineShe came back for her scheduled appointment, and Hilary was ready for her and sat her down for the consultationIt was a thorough consultationHilary then shampooed her hair and started the haircutI heard the guest say three times in the first few minutes that Hilary was not cutting it short enough and that they needed to pause so she could go retrieve a magazine and look for a haircut she wantedHilary paused the haircut so they could look through a magazine togetherThey decided on a haircut Hilary found on her phone, because there were no pictures in the magazine that showed the back of a haircutThe haircut she found required clippers to be usedHilary took her time and asked more questionsWhen the haircut was done I witnessed Hilary hand the guest the hand mirror and turned her around so she could see the backOur guest was pleased and very excited to have this haircut, she paid with a check and tipped Hilary, took Hilary's business card, and left. The next day she called and left a very derogatory message on the machine, basically stating that she couldn't believe that Hilary would shave the back of her headShe never left a number for us to contact herShe then left a review on our facebook page, which I did reply to, saying that this could have been handled in a much better fashionWe never received another message with a phone number to contact her.Thank you for your time,Rhonda O***
