Dear *** ***
This is in response to Revdex.com complaint ID: ***:
Mr*** was never a customer of oursThere is no contract, payment or deposit of any sort completed between Barsala and Mr*** nor was there a confirmation or misrepresentation from us, either oral or written, that
we had confirmed Mr***.
Mr*** initiated a reservation through Expedia (not through any of our reps or our website)Our terms with Expedia allow us to confirm a reservation once the deposit on the card on file with Expedia clearsIf a card on file doesn’t clear or raises a fraud alert due to a name mismatch or for various other reasons, we attempt to reach Expedia or the customer directly to resolve.
To that end, our staff attempted multiple times to get in contact with Mr*** over the phone to confirm his reservationOver a period spanning weeks (between Late February and Mid March) we did not hear back from Mr***
Finally, on 2/29, without any response to our calls, we informed Mr*** via email so that we could have a paper trail to show to Expedia, that the reservation had not been confirmed due to invalid payment and advised Mr*** to contact Expedia where he had initiated his reservationMr*** then contacted us on our after hours emergency number, mentioning his card had been shut off around 3/This was incongruous with our initial attempts to confirm his reservation in February raising a fraud suspicionAs this was an unusual circumstance for our support rep to deal with after hours, she requested some additional time to screen Mr*** as it was late in the evening and our office had already closed earlierMr*** quickly grew increasingly aggressive and started to threaten the younger support representative (name omitted for privacy) over the phone to the point that she felt extremely uncomfortable interacting with Mr***We are a small business and meet many of our guests face-to-face and this quickly escalated into a safety concernMr*** then proceeded to send a flurry of emails and quickly informed us that he had secured alternative reservations.
Thanks,
Mike
Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
Mike is presenting false data. After speaking with Expedia, the terms of the contract that Barsala presented them gives them a 3 day way to clear payment. They attempted to charge my card 8 days after I had authorized payment, which may have resulted in it being declined. As pictured in the attached file, which shows the date their system created my account and the subsequent single charge attempt.
Mike claims that he tried to reach me over the phone for the period of 3 weeks. I have never received a call from them and have no voice mails from him or his company regarding the failed payment. My email was attached to the reservation form and he was successful in emailing me when the cancellation notice came through.
The After Hours emergency number that he says I contacted was the number posted as the contact number on the Expedia website. Also I did not contact them "after hours", I called them during normal business hours. He emailed me with the cancellation notice at 5:15pm, I immediately called the number listed on Expedia and have call logs and email timestamps showing the time of the interaction with his representative.
Again I would like to stress that Mike claims he tried to reach me over the course of 3 weeks by PHONE when he was able to successfully contact me by EMAIL but only to notify me of cancellation. In the attached picture that he sent me, it shows my account name is created under my email address. What type of business would not attempt to use the easiest and most accepted method of contact to attempt to resolve a problem? That he let the situation stagnate for 3 weeks is unreal. He jumps to conclusions and attempts to rationalize his behavior based on "fraud suspicion".
At no time did I become aggressive or attempt to threaten any of his employees. I gave him ample opportunity to make things right and to contact me but he refused. In which I responded that he was forcing me to leave him a negative review.
I do not accept his response as anything more but pathetic attempts to cover his tracks.
Sincerely,[redacted]
