Unfortunately, I had this company install a new Lennox furnace & air conditionerAfter the installers left I had to call ONG because of the strong order of gasThe tech reported that the 1/2" water trap nipple hadn't been tightened, he could turn it with his fingers They did not get a permit prior to the installation because the company didn't have an active mechanical license with OK Construction Industry BoardSometime after 6-7-16, second opinion submitted the insurance info necessary to have a active mechanical license In order to get a permit for a code inspection with the city of OKC, the company has to have an active licenseSome how they got a permit through Efficient Roofing & Construction instead of second opinion for the code inspection?? The furnace was not installed properly but the OKC mechanical code inspector passed the furnace when it should have failed Finally, Jerry Don Ellis(owner of efficient) along with the OKC Mechanical Inspection Supervisor, resolved the problem of the furnace not having an airtight seal to the platform it sits on Without an airtight seal between the furnace & the platform there could be a danger of carbon monoxide being released through the furnace duct system In years of life, I have never experienced such unprofessional, uncouth attitudes & behaviors, as those of business owners, jerry & shawn ellis as well as some of their staff!

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is completely not satisfactory to meI have made my complaint also known with American Home Shield about our "professional difference of opinions." Sincerely, [redacted]

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 8, 2014/08/11) */ The owner contacted the homeowner directly and have come to a resolution

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/06/25) */
At the time our technician went out to this customers home the technician did a leak search and found no issues other than the shrader cores on the unit and the unit empty of freonHe repaired the cores and added the freon at that timeThe
customer called back a few weeks later saying the unit was not cooling again and he went back out and said the only other place it could be possibly be leaking from was the slab coil that was inaccessableWe called the issue into the home warranty company for the customer and the home warranty company denied the issue due to access
No where on the technicians notes does it say that there is with 100% accuracy that there is a large hole in the evap coilThat was a theory since he could not access the coil properly
In the case of the secretary hanging up on the customer - she is only a secretary and does not have the training of a technician and can only go by what the technician has said and she hung up on the customer when the customer told her he wanted his f'ing refund and she told the customer as our policy is, now that you have cursed at her she now has to end the conversationWe do not subject our secretaries to take that a from customers on a daily basis
We will not be refunding the customer's because there was an issue with the shrader cores and the freon was added and the unit was reading correct pressures and cooling
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/06/26) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The words that came out of the tech's mouth was that he couldn't find a leak and that he ASSUMED it MIGHT be the shrader core and replaced it just incase it was the issueBut it obviously there was a really large hole and leak for it to drain out again weeks later
There's no question about a possible leak from the coil that is "inaccessible." The tech took a photo on his phone and point to me where the leak is on the actual coilHow was that inaccessibleIf he would have found this hole the first time around like I mentioned, the coil would have to have been repaired or replaced properly before the unit could even be rechargedAnd to add, American Home Shield stated that the company was never authorized the first time around to recharge itAnd to add to "accessibility," AHS stated that Second Opinion had an issue with getting the coil out of the furnace in the attic and that we would have to cut some of the wood out of our roof to access itWe called to confirm this with the contractor the moment we got the call from AHS
Well, we got a second opinion from another contractorHe said the coil could be easily replaced with no issues at allNone, ZeroSquatAnd from his 25+ years of experience he was baffle and had no idea why we were have issues with access or why the leak was overlookAnd AHS approved the repair, which has been completedSoAccess issue?
I also have photos of the coil out of the attic and a close up of the hole that is visible from outside the furnace
There was never an issue with the shrader coilJust a theory as the company stated

We are contracted through your home warranty company to come to your home and give what is our professional diagnosisAfter we turn in our diagnosis to your warranty company it is up to them and the plan that you hold, what your non-covered costs will in tellEven though your home is years old
the HVAC code manual changes every three years and as a contracted business if we touch your system in any way and you are required to have a major part changed then yes....your system must be brought up to codeYour warranty company calls and gives you the list of code requirements therefore my guys do not write a detailed invoiceAs far as the $that was not paid by you, that was paid by your warranty company per our contract with themWe have guidelines we MUST follow with them and we do so....as far as the other professionals....It is one professional opinion over another and there are alot of "Good Ole Boys" that do alot of shady work and do not follow the HVAC code requirements and inspections

My Home Warranty company chose Second Opinion to do work on my air conditioning system The first tech who came out said that he needed to perform an additional test, and would order through the warranty company After waiting a week or more, I heard that the tech had a family emergency and his paperwork was lost A second technician came out a week later and said we need a whole new coil, and he would put the paperwork through After again waiting, I heard back that he was no longer with the company and his paperwork was lost Finally, got put with a new company, and lo and behold, my air conditioning was fixed in a half hour DON'T use Second Opinion unless you're willing to wait for winter for your house to be cool!

This is the most dishonest company I have ever delt wih They lied about everything Their intent from the start was to sell us something we did not need
Impossible to speak owner or anyone in higher management The office staff is rude and seems to lie as much as the person who came to our home
Very low class personel making service calls Didn't feel good about having them in our home They left our airconditioner without puttig it back together when they were finished
Stay clear of this fly-by-night outfit

Unfortunately, I had this company install a new Lennox furnace & air conditioner. After the installers left I had to call ONG because of the strong order of gas. The tech reported that the 1/2" water trap nipple hadn't been tightened, he could turn it with his fingers. They did not get a permit prior to the installation because the company didn't have an active mechanical license with OK Construction Industry Board. Sometime after 6-7-16, second opinion submitted the insurance info necessary to have a active mechanical license. In order to get a permit for a code inspection with the city of OKC, the company has to have an active license. Some how they got a permit through Efficient Roofing & Construction instead of second opinion for the code inspection?? The furnace was not installed properly but the OKC mechanical code inspector passed the furnace when it should have failed. Finally, Jerry Don Ellis(owner of efficient) along with the OKC Mechanical Inspection Supervisor, resolved the problem of the furnace not having an airtight seal to the platform it sits on. Without an airtight seal between the furnace & the platform there could be a danger of carbon monoxide being released through the furnace duct system. In 71 years of life, I have never experienced such unprofessional, uncouth attitudes & behaviors, as those of business owners, jerry & shawn ellis as well as some of their staff!
