Sears Holdings Corporation Reviews (5890)

I purchased a refrigerator at the Wilkes Barre PA store on 8/13/2016 and charged it to my Sears Credit Card. Delivery was set for 8/24/2016. I received multiple texts, emails and one confirmation call for delivery on 8/24/2016 between 10:45am and 12:45pm. Approximately one hour before delivery, I received a call from Jill at 1-610-[redacted] advising me that my refrigerator was not available and was on back order with no future delivery date set. It is now 8/30/2016 and Sears cannot give me a delivery date on a product they charged to my credit card on 8/13/2016. I called for a deferral of payment until it is delivered and what my options are. They said no deferral can be made. They can only cancel the order and I can choose another appliance. I have a limited budget and spacing in my kitchen. If I cancel this order and reorder the same item, I will go to the bottom of the delivery list. I called the store and they are still selling the same product, setting delivery dates of 9/2/2016 yet I cannot get my paid for item. I am at a loss of what to do because I do not have the cash to pay for the item. In the meantime I am running a refrigerator that had very little coldness. Food is spoiling, I am making multiple unnecessary trips to the grocery store since I can only store a day or two's food in my broken refrigerator. Jill at the warehouse stated she has no way to contact the vendor that supplies the item via phone or email. I don't understand how they are selling an item that is not available and charging for it with no delivery date in sight. This seems like misrepresentation and I am extremely frustrated with their "no info" answers. Kindly look into this matter.

Leeann [redacted]   Dear Ms. [redacted],   We have completed the investigation of Ms. [redacted]’s complaint regarding her Sears Home Warranty.   We value Ms. [redacted]’s patronage, but can understand how the series of events noted in her complaint has caused her to lose faith in Sears. We regret that this incident occurred, but we can assure Ms. [redacted] that her concerns have been forwarded to management for review so future problems of this nature can be averted.  We can only reiterate that we do not condone how she was treated and that we truly regret the misinformation she received. On receipt of Ms. [redacted]’s complaint we reached out to Cross Country Home Services (CCHS) who is the obligor of the Sears home warranties. We confirmed that although Ms. [redacted] was informed of the amount to add her garage refrigerator our agent didn’t not explain how to have this done nor was it added at the time Ms. [redacted] purchased the warranty. Julia Stephenson, case management specialist from CCHS stated that Ms. [redacted] did purchase the additional coverage for her refrigerator recently and she was informed that her standalone ice maker is not covered. Since we have addressed Ms. [redacted]’s complaint we have closed our file.   Again, we apologize to Ms. [redacted] for this issue and appreciate the opportunity to address this matter.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or concerns.   Sincerely,  Vanessa L. I just got back from the sears in Daytona Beach, AWFUL customer service. I called for 30 minutes and no answer. I then called their customer service number and had their call center call the store...no answer. I was forced to drive all the way there just to talk to someone. I received an "I don't care" attitude from the "manager" when told about the phones not getting answered. I explained to them that I bought a $700 treadmill that does not work, and I felt they should be responsible for the exchange of this item. They refused to help me and after 20 minutes they bring out a "solution". They wanted me to buy ANOTHER treadmill and PAY for the delivery fee which would NOT be refunded to me after they got the broken one back. They want me to pay them $70 to remove a treadmill that is defective, that they sold me, from my house. They have no store manager and refused to tell me who the district manager is (if they even have one) but assured me that the corporate number would get me in touch with someone "higher up than a DM" ( I can't believe people actually buy that line) I called corporate anyways to see how far I could get. They immediately put me on hold for 37 minutes then told me they were transferring me to Nordictrack "to schedule a repair", SURPRISE they transferred me to another department within sears who did not speak english but instead just kept repeating "sears not repair your exerciser". She finally transferred me to yet ANOTHER line which I was on hold for another 42 minutes when I finally gave them what they wanted and hung up. I will be returning the treadmill to this worthless store and eating the $35 fee to rent ANOTHER truck to bring this POS back to the store. I hope this stops at least one person from buying anything of value from sears as they have by far the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Although I'm sure sears is aware they are the worst. Hopefully soon they will go out of business and the world can sleep a little better at night knowing this retail giant has been put out of its misery.

I am rejecting this response because: Nowhere in the business response is it noted that I vehemently disagree with what was supposedly found with my mower. The mower that was returned had severe damage while the mower that was dropped off was simply having trouble getting started and essentially needed a tune up. The business called me a liar and said there was no chance this damage occurred in their hands. The business made it clear they had no intention of helping the situation, then offered a 25% refund on the new mower, which was then lowered to 15%. As I had to move on with my day and return to work, I had no choice but to accept this since the representative said I could not speak to anyone else and that they wouldn't help me either anyway because he had the final say and he is choosing not to help. I would at least like it clearly noted that my mower did NOT have this damage when dropped off, but since I couldn't provide video of the mower running at the time of drop off, the company chooses to say I am a liar and not help. I was assured this would be in the report , but clearly that was a lie on their part. I have also received no follow up from he store or any of the employees who assured me my mower should and would be repaired, who are also liars.

Sincerely,
[redacted]

regarding her dissatisfaction with our appointment availability in her area for the repair of treadmill.Firstly we would like to apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment that [redacted] may have experienced when she scheduled a service appointment for her treadmill. We want to assure [redacted] that her complaint and feedback will give us the opportunity to remedy any problem that may exist and help to improve our service further. We apologize that we were not able to provide [redacted] a sooner service date.  According to District Manager [redacted] we had a technician that was out of service but was returning the week of November 2, 2015.  Our records indicate that on October 19, 2015 our technician diagnosed the treadmill and ordered the part for the repair.  [redacted] agreed to install the part herself once she received it.  Regrettably, [redacted] called again on October 23, 2015 that the treadmill was still not working after the part was installed and service was scheduled for November 3, 2015.  We made every effort to provide a sooner service date and we contacted [redacted] that we could reschedule for November 2, 2015.  Our technician ordered additional parts and is scheduled to return on November 7, 2015 to install the parts. With that being said, since our agreement with the Revdex.com restricts the length of time a complaint can remain open, we feel that keeping this case open during the interim is unwarranted.  If [redacted] issue is not resolved to her satisfaction, she can reopen it later even if the Revdex.com has closed it as resolved.  We respectfully ask that this matter remain closed at this time.Again, we apologize to [redacted] and appreciate the opportunity to address this matter.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or concerns.Sincerely,[redacted]Regulatory Complaint SpecialistSears Holdings Corporation[redacted]

repair.First,
we would like to apologize to [redacted] for failing her expectations in regard
to the repair of her refrigerator. Additionally,
we would like to assure [redacted] that we do not take these matters lightly and
we have forwarded her concerns to the District Service Manager and Routing
Manager for further review.  We
appreciate the opportunity to address the customer service/scheduling issues
outlined within [redacted] complaint, so that future problems can be
averted.  On October 29, 2015, after
reviewing the notes within our service system, we authorized [redacted] for an
in-warranty exchange.   While [redacted] only paid $1,444.90 for her
refrigerator, we determined that $2,011.75 was needed to provide her with a
comparable replacement.  [redacted] used
the aforementioned credit and an additional $100.00 discount to select a new
refrigerator.  The unit she selected was
slightly more than the amount we allotted, so [redacted] paid the difference of $264.37.  Our records show that the new refrigerator is
scheduled for delivery on November 11, 2015, which is the first available
date.            Additionally,
we explained to [redacted] why she was denied food loss compensation; the
manufacturer’s warranty does not provide for consequential damages.  Food loss could only be recouped if a protection
agreement is carried on the refrigerator. With that said, since it is our
understanding that [redacted] is satisfied with the outcome of her complaint, we
ask to have this matter closed.Again,
we apologize to [redacted] and we appreciate the opportunity to address this
matter. Sincerely,[redacted]

[redacted]Dear Ms. [redacted]:We have completed the investigation of Ms. [redacted]’s
complaint regarding the charge she...

paid to receive an estimate for repair on
her refrigerator. We would first clarify that the only reason for a refrigerator
to need Freon added, is because it has lost Freon and this happens because
there is some sort of leak in the sealed system that is allowing it to escape.
The sealed system is comprised mostly of the compressor and also the tubing
that carries the coolant throughout the refrigerator. So while Ms. [redacted]
might feel our estimate was incorrect, it sounds as if it was in fact accurate
and that the other company’s stopgap of refilling the Freon did not address the
underlying problem. With that said, while Ms. [redacted] may not have been
entitled to receive a refund, it does appear that our customer support team
possibly offered this as a courtesy. After this though, it looks like the offer
may have been rescinded. Since the offer was made, we felt it should be honored
and as such, we have issued a mailed bank check to the address listed on this
complaint. The check is for $81.00 and Ms. [redacted] should receive it within the
next 2-3 weeks. In the interim, since we have explained that the charges we assessed
for our diagnosis was correct and yet we provided Ms. [redacted] for a refund of
these charges that are normally non-refundable, we have closed our file.We apologize to Ms. [redacted] and appreciate the
opportunity to address this matter.

I am rejecting this response because:
Sears refused to respond to any of my communication that was sent to them regarding my purchase.  Sears held on to my money for a month without any consideration that I could not purchase another item for my child until I received my refund.  Sears completely disrespected me as a customer and as a person, showing their reflection of humanity.  Sears did refund my money after continued communication and still held my money for five more days.
I am requesting the interest that Sears accrued on my purchase to be transferred to myself as their business tactics are beneath civility! As I did receive the refund, but I am now out the item that I was purchasing and the interest that my money would gain while in my account.

Sincerely,
Mary [redacted]

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They have not addressed my pain and suffering due to their negligence and unskilled technicians.
Also they were harsh to me on the phone. I had lose of food and had to buy ice bags for these months to preserve...

my food and drinks. I would think I should get some type of compensation for that. Should I not ?
