Review: On the evening of October 11, 2013, my fiance and I contracted with Sean's taxi for a fare from Amtrak station in [redacted] to a hotel in [redacted]. It was a stormy evening. I asked Sean to quote a fare and he responded "$50". Finding this rate to be resonable, we made a verbal contract for his services. Sean said, "I'll have to run the meter on this fare"... and considering the conditions, I understood his concern. Conditions on the road were not ideal given the weather. Sean did successfully deliver the fare (2 friends) to [redacted]. The trip took approximately 50 minutes, which is 5 or 10 minutes longer than usual. His charge - $110. (more than twice the $50 quote)Of note and according to the ladies in the fare: He drove over 75mph down Rt ** His 2 children were in the car The radio was tuned to loud heavy metalAll together, not an ideal experience. The less-than-stellar service is one consideration, but then to price gouge your customer in addition, is too much for me. Thus, I am writing. As a follow-up - I anonymously called Sean's Taxi Service with the exact same fare request a week later. I asked for a ride from the station in [redacted] to [redacted]. This time, his quote was $60. Upon receiving this quote, I identified myself to Sean and expressed my displeasure at the experience of the previous Friday. Sean told me he would not provide any compensation for my displeasure. He said, "I told you that I would run the meter." And I replied that the trip from [redacted] to [redacted] is about 40-45 minutes and that his $110 fare was price gouging. He asked, "What would you like me to do?" and I replied, "Split the difference with me on this, give me $25 that I could return to the girls who actually paid the fare." He said, "No." The only recourse that he left me was to contact the Revdex.com. The amount of money involved here is rather trivial. The principle is significant. I am not fond of anyone who takes advantage of a situation in this manner.Desired Settlement: As a matter of principle, I would like to receive cash compensation from Sean's Taxi Service.Either: $60 - the difference between his quote and his charge. $25 - the amount that I requested when I spoke with Sean.
