S&D Discount sold us a fridge that worked for a week. They fix up appliances to work only past the 7 day warranty.
My husband bought a used GE Side by Side Refrigerator on . He worked with xxxx who insured him the refrigerator was working properly. At that time, XXXXX presented herself as friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. A real wolf in sheep's clothing. My husband paid $300 cash for the refrigerator. S & D does not deliver so we arranged with a friend to help deliver the fridge. When we plugged the fridge later that night and by the morning everything was cold or frozen. About 4 days later, I noticed the juice wasn't quite cold enough. I turned the temperature in the fridge up a number. The next day the ice melted in the freezer. My contacted xxxxx stated it would cost $100 to hire delivery men to bring the refrigerator back into the store and another $100 to re-deliver the refrigerator. My husband was away for work (he is in the military) so hiring a delivery service was my only option. She said we could apply $300 towards another used appliance in the store. So, $200 out of pocket cost(delivery) plus more money because the other refrigerators cost at least $100 more than the original $300. I was irate. I realized that S&D isn't in the business of selling appliances; it is in the business of selling repairs. They fix up appliances just enough so it last past the 7 day warranty. Then, the appliances stop working fully. You are not left with a lot of options except to shell out more money. I looked on the internet and found out we weren't the only people that had problems with S&D. I found that other S&D customers were scammed. They had the same problem with their appliances. They stop working after a short time, and were not offered a real solution to the problem.
Talk to the husband about having it deliver, he did not want to pay for it. I let him know that he has to be very careful taking it up stairs. From what the wife told me they had a very hard time getting it up the stairs, drop it a few times. I was more than glad to to exchange if only the fridge came back in the same condition ( on dents or anything broken). I try hard to make her happy other than paying for deliver. She got very mad at me.
