Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
There was never any buff block and any tool besides a cuticle scraper and a nail file used during my entire visit. The scrub was the only thing applied, which was done with her hands. I was cut on my left ring finger where she pushed back cuticle too far. I did not bleed, but it was painful for a couple of days. I did receive a voice mail from the cosmetologist regarding my complaint, but she only offered another service with her, not another employee. I called back that afternoon and left a message with the receptionist that this was not acceptable, and I never heard anything back from anyone at the salon. I am sure this employee does a wonderful job with hair and makeup, but she should not be doing nails. It is extremely worrisome that Scruples will not make an attempt to resolve customer service issues such as this. In the 25 years I have been receiving manicures and pedicures, I have had a lot of good experiences and a lot of poor experiences, but none like this. I have never asked for my money back, but there is just no other option in this case.
Regards,

To whom it may concern,
In reply to the complaint from [redacted] on February 17, 2014, ID [redacted].
To verify, the person providing the service is a licensed professional cosmetologist and is therefore able to provide the services Miss [redacted] received....
The cosmetologist has been confronted with this issue of complaint and finds several faults in Miss [redacted] report. During the Pedicure service Miss [redacted] requested her calluses be cut off. The cosmetologist replied she could only smooth and buff the calluses,it is against state law to cut the calluses off. The cosmetologist proceeded with a buff and scrub. When Miss [redacted] asked for french tips the cosmetologist explained she did not have the white polish to complete that technique. This does not make her any less qualified to complete these services than a licensed '' nail tech ''. Miss [redacted] received a regular color from the polishes provided.
In regards to the manicure, Miss [redacted] received, the cosmetologist did not cut her finger while pushing back the cuticles. If this had happened the cosmetologist would have addressed the cut immediately, with proper first aid precautions. The cosmetologist did not have a cold sore.
As our salon policy we do not provide refunds, as it is a service being provided in a timely order. If anyone does have an issue with a service, the issue is addressed and fixed free of charge. Miss [redacted] was informed of this by the cosmetologist in returning her complaint to the salon. And was also told she could receive a free pedicure from her or another cosmetologist if she preferred. The salon never received a call from Miss [redacted].
At Scruples salon and spa we have a high regard for professionalism. And anyone who dose not meet that professionalism is addressed immediately.
Sincerely,
Scruples Salon and Spa
