I am in the middle of a billing nightmare with them
Scottsdale Emergency AssocLTD continues sending me a bill for $1,even though I sent them a letter stating that that they are double billing me and my insurance has confirmed that this claim has been paid They need to fix their records to accurately reflect that I have a $balance They never answer the phone and ignore mail which I have sent informing them that they are double billing
Scottsdale Emergency Associates falsely bills patients after they have been paid 100% by the insurance comapny
Scottsdale Emergency Assoc changed who received their payments at some time last year.I had notice at some point that the pymt didn't go throughI called SEA, the lady told me that it was no longer the same PO Box, and she wasn't sure what to tellme to doWe made a $pymt to them over phoneHowever a few days later, the $successfully transferredThen continued to do soI figured it was worked outEvidently it wasn't In November, I rec'd a letter from a collection company, Bureau of Medical Economics, advising me that I owed $to pay off this debtI had never defaulted on a single pymtSEA changed who it was suppose to go to According to someone I spoke to at SEA named Denise, she said they had not rec'd payments since Oct of Problem was, they didn't tell me and they didn't tell me who the new pymts should go toI had set up automatic pymts through my bankThe $per mo pymt continued to be sent to the same location, who from what they are now telling me wasn'
I have had bad experiences with Scottsdale Emergency Association since of overbilling and collection agencies acting on their behalfThe last one from 12/they billed for an emergency visit the amount of $where as my inscarrier paid $for the services The problem is that at no time was I seen by a physician at the time of service A physician was not even at the hospital and only called on the phone and he was told of the lab results, in which he instructed the nurse to write a prescription and send me home And for that phone call, he charged me $for his services at a Level Upon coming into the hospital I confirmed that they were a *** approved facility however, later only to be told the hospital contracts with a non-approved physician firm that does balance billing (which is now in illegal in Arizona) Scottsdale Emergency Associates regardless of the service or level of service always charges a level minimum at $and demands from the patient the full payment, there is no breakdown of a bill or what they done for that amount other than management Now, keep in mind, the hospital does the management and charged for those services already Who is double dipping who?
Poor service, poor billing practices,,,,negative to the patient with their threats
I just received a collection notice from Bay Area Credit Service (on behalf of Scottsdale Emergency Associates) for $61. NOBODY form Scottsdale Emergency Associates ever sent me a bill? Absolutely ridiculous.
This business is horrible. They immediately sent invoices to collections without making any attempt to bill me. I was sent to collections and never even received a bill to pay. When I requested a bill from them, no response except to tell me that my account was forwarded to collections. Terrible customer service on the verge of fraudulent business practices. Then I was harassed by the collections company. I repeatedly asked for my bill, but never received it from SEA. I paid the bill to collections eventually just to get them to stop calling me everyday. I was trying to contact SEA, but they wouldn't even work with me once I was notified of the outstanding balance by the collections company. I still don't have the detail to tell me exactly what the charges were that I paid for. Disgusting.
They seem to use all types of different billing collection agencies. I have one address of PO Box 98601, Las Vegas, NV 89193-8601. Another one of Bureau of Medical Economics Post Office Box 20247, Phoenix, AZ 85036-0247. These people are really nasty and seem to not have records accurate. They had none of the letters that I had previously sent to the collection agency in Las Vegas, who had called me and threatened me. Perhaps a class action would be something to consider against these individuals.
I have had 3 different situations with Scottsdale Emergency Associates of overbilling since 2012. The overbilling of a small amount I finally paid, only to find out this week was still on record for non-payment and outstanding and yet I've not received anything from them in 5 years! Yesterday, I called on a bill from 12/2016 where I was treated at the Shea Emergency Room, never seen by a physician yet billed by Scottsdale Emergency Associates the amount of $1710.00 in which my ins. carrier paid $435.02 leaving a balance of $1274.98 in which I said was outrageous since I never was seen by a physician nor was a physician even at the hospital when I was treated by the nurse and sent home. I did receive a bill from the hospital which my ins. carrier paid their agreed amount and I paid my deductible in full. However, Scottsdale Emergency Associates believes that they are entitled to another $1274.98 just because I was an emergency patient, not because they ever saw me. Seems a bit illegal and fraudulent to me. I don't know how these physician's get away with this white collar crime and threatening people with liens.
