The spark plug boot is the part they supposedly replaced, so there is nothing to see now.  Part of the maintenance they originally performed was to install a new spark plug.  It is my belief that any damage to the boot occurred during maintenance as I had no trouble with the mower prior.  This would have been so simple if when I called to report the problem, they had replied "we'll fix it."
