The issue with the leak is from the existing siding that was poorly done from someone else. This issue was addressed. It did not leak before because any rain would go behind original siding, foam, and vinyl siding and now that was removed below the existing window. I was only notified once of this issue and was there the next day. Any third party involvement is because of [redacted]. I never told anyone I would only fix the problem for more money. I wanted to get paid for the deck first. There is no water that can leak through the roof addition because it is covered completely with ice and water barrier. The issue is because of improper installation of foam under vinyl siding that was done from someone else

I am rejecting this response because: First off, did not start till 9-8-16 and was done the middle of Oct. Nothing was said about issues with old siding or the windows above the work area, and the was no leaking or water issues before starting this remodel...
job. And no-one said anything to me about replacing those windows. The only window Schweiss wanted to replace was the one in the bedroom, due to it being easier than keeping it, and there is nothing wrong with that window, so I said it was to be used in the new part of the remodel. I called Schweiss in June after a very heavy rain and wind from the west, and that is the only direction is can get wet. Yes, he came out and said he silicone it. And that burnt out the ceiling fan and light. I replaced. Then in Aug. we had another heavy rain and wind storm from the west and it leaked thought the fan and light again and in the closet area and burnt out the fan and light again. I also replaced again. Call lumber co. about something else and also told them about the leak, and they talked to Schweiss and he refused to come back out and fix without being paid again. Said not his problem! He was paid $6036.40 for his work. The lumber co. said they would come out and take vent off and see if that helped, did not so the set another guy[Butch] out and he took siding off and put a bearer up and resiliconed and so far no more leaks, but no rain from the west either. I am not unhappy with his work, just his unwillness to fix the leak without more money. I didn't pay him for the leaks. The Elec. bill was $200.00 to replace the light and fan the first time and light-$99.00, and again light 105.00[not on sale], and have not received the elec. bill yet this time. Yes, I had him replace the old deck, in July, in between the leak issues. And that is not without issues, but I can fix those things myself. As for the deck and it taking me 4 months to pay, first bill came end of Aug. $1000.00 over the bid. I had changed the size of the deck and went small and let Shweiss square it and put steps down in stead of down 3 landing, turn, and down 6, because would be easier and less costly. I paid half in Aug.-$3000.00, the middle of Sept. paid-$2000.00, and the first of Oct. paid another $2000.00. He did not try to keep cost down, the lumber yard the was to supply wood was billing me for the wood and some didn't add up and found Schweiss had went to another lumber yard and got some wood for double the price with out asking me. I would not have had him do the deck work if I thought he was not going to stand behind his work. And that is the issue!!!
