We are the *** *** *** * ***We have been in business for almost years. years ago we started serving High TeaIn the course of the years our price has gone from $to $per personWe market our High Teas in a number of waysof them are our website and rack
cardsJust in the last years we have handed out over 40,rack cards. On the card is the price $Also on the card there is a line that says “All prices and dates subject to change and availability”. As of Jan 1, 2017, we raised the price from that $to $Now when a guest calls to make a reservation we tell them that the price has gone up to $40.00. We do this because we know people are not going to the website but only by the information that is on the rack cardAt the same time we did take away the personal tour tooWe have way to many returning guests that do not care to take the tour againThis is stated on the website tooCheck our website - *** By the way we are rated better than the *** *** High TeaWhich is the * *** *** ** ***Just this past December 2016, we served guests High Tea.You send us this letter from Sara ***We have no idea who this person is. She is not in the data baseWe think that she may have come with a friend, who did not tell her that the price was differentLater in our conservations we find out that Sara came with Michele who made the reservation. There were ladies that cameOne came with a baby and strollerBoth baby and stroller are not welcome to this event because what we do during the eventI said nothing to her about thisIt would be like taking an infant to the BalletThey brought the baby and stroller without letting us knowEven on our website it says best for children over years of ageI said nothing.I would not let her have her stroller in the Dining room for safety for everyoneThey were not happy about this.During the event, they seems to have a great timeI would come over and ask how everything was goingReceived a number of nice complimentsAsked how the food was, again no problemThen I handed them the billThey did come to me and stated that the rack card says $35.00. Yes, I agreed, but then I showed them the line about “priced subject to change”Reminded Michele, I mentioned the change at time of reservationAnd let them know we raised out price on Jan 1, 2017. They could not accept thatMichele paid the bill, did not leave a tipBut continued to push the stroller around the mansion looking at everythingThere is not much room to push a stroller around at this mansion, but she seem to managedI said nothing.I found it odd that for ladies who were very upset with us about not giving them the lower price, stayed, looked around, even had conservation with us, and even interacted with our catThey were the last ladies to leave and stayed longer then they were suppose to. I said nothing. On a rare occasion, those who do not like the event, are the first to leave.Well, the lady, Michele, who made the reservation for Sara, went on every review website slamming us, calling us “Schiesters”, “Bait and Switch”You get the pictureBig slamming, terrible food, boring stories of history ( NOTE: people come back to hear my stories of history)Taking a deep breath, telling ourselves we can NOT make everyone happyBut knowing we need to reply to those hateful, very emotional degrading reviews.Then we get your letter from Sara ***. Again, we have no idea who she is. So I call the number that is on the letterI called timesIn a very polite voice ask her to give us a call and we can talk about her letter. Again, we did not know who this woman was.Jan 26, during High Tea, we get a phone call. We are saying good bye to our wonderful guests so we let it go to voice mailI check the call, no voice mail was leftI did notice the numberSo I called back she did not pick upNow I have attached the conversation that continued with SaraShe would not talk on the phone so we texted.See attached files below. I am also sending another email with our rack card that she had in hand. Does she thinks that I have to honor all 40,rack cards forever. And the “subject to” line does not apply to her.These complaints sadden us, the efforts, our lives, our time, our money, to make the best experience for anyone that walks through our mansion doors. But there are people out there who do not see what is really offered to them and enjoyVery sad.
