We went back through records and found that we had had a dispute with *** *** where he had attempted to pay less than the amount originally agreed upon for the work we did. This dispute was resolved last year, and we thought our dealings with *** *** had been concluded. When *** ***
contacted us asking for a the warranty information, we responded in a timely manner, stating that the warranty had been in his possession all along - it is printed right on the boxes for the shingles, which were left in his possession. There is simply no other warranty to provide to *** ***ThanksJanetJanet C*** Office Manager

I filed a complaint against Scholar Painting company on 11/24/14 with the Revdex.com. The complaint # [redacted] has since been resolved. The company returned the deposit of $600.00 on 11/24/14. Thank you.
The project was given a 3/4 week time frame for the full competition of the project with some extra time that would be allowed for any surprises that might of came up during the project. There were come changes to the original contract scope (by the homeowner)after the carpentry work began which...
caused us to have to order additional shingles for the replacement of the siding in the front of the house. We also ran into some unforeseen carpentry work along the eaves of the house which added about 5 days to the time line. Also the additional siding materials had to be special ordered which took some time to track down the exact type and size which took a few weeks to do. During this time I communicated to the homeowner what was occurring and what the delay was on his project, we were able to do all the other work on the house other the those pieces of siding. Once the wood shingles were delivered they were installed and painted , the homeowner had problems with the paint matching on the house. I then had the painting manufactures rep visit the house and right a report on his findings which I offered to the homeowner which he did not want to hear. I made it clear to him that the work was done correctly and the paint matched perfectly according to [redacted] rep which I have attached. The only way to make the homeowner happy would be to void the manufacturer"s warranty by adding about a 1/4 inch of paint in 2 days but time after time he would use profanity and use racist language. I was not going to work for someone that degraded me and used racist language. We finally came to a understanding which allowed us the time properly add the additional coating mileage in a acceptable time frame. This allowed us to completely finish the project 100%.
Review: I hired Scholar Painting in April 2014 to paint the exterior of my home, stain my deck and replace my gutters. Although I did not get a timeline in the contract, the owner, [redacted] assured me the job would take about 2 weeks. It is now the 13th week and the project is still not complete and there are some problems with the workmanship that [redacted] is refusing to fix.The reason this 2 week job is in its 13th week is because Scholar Painting is not on the job, everyday, working continuously until the job is complete as stated in the contract. They simply show up whenever they feel like it, do a little work and then leave. The project is horribly mismanaged by an incompetent owner who does not care about the disruption to the home owners property during the project. When confronted about the delays [redacted] will say anything to get you to leave him alone with no intention of getting the project done in a timely manner. Also, my house's paint job looks horrible because of a big error that [redacted] is refusing to fix. The exterior of my home needed some minor carpentry work done, mainly replacing some cedar shingles that were rotten and damaged. Instead of doing the carpentry work before the paint job, as common sense would indicate, Scholar Painting proceeds to paint my house and then rip out the old cedar shingles in the middle of the paint job, marring the look of the front of my house. [redacted] insists he did everything right and that there is nothing he can do to fix it. I told him it's because he did things in the wrong order but he insists he did everything correct. Meanwhile, the front of my home looks horrible.Talking to [redacted] gets me nowhere. He does not listen, does not care, and will say anything to get you to leave him alone. I've had to resort to the Revdex.com and Department of [redacted] in an effort to get him to make good on his contract.Desired Settlement: I want either 1 of 2 outcomes:1. I want Scholar Painting to finish the job they started and fix their mistakes and paint my house to my satisfaction, as stated in our contract. 2. Be able to fire Scholar Painting for breech of contract without the threat of a lien being placed on my home and then hire a competent company to finish the job and fix the mistakes made by Scholar Painting, and then send Scholar Painting the bill.

Review: $1400 deposit was made and contract signed June 18th to have house and garage washed, stained and repairs to trim if needed. Job was to begin end of June, early July and work was to be continuous until completion. Beginning July 8th, phone calls and emails have been a weekly, sometimes daily process to first begin the job and then to work at making some progress. Excuses were made and twice I offered to allow the company to terminate the contract if they would refund my deposit. First I was offered a 10% discount but by Sept 1st when little was getting done, I again volunteered to return the deposit plus damages. I foolishly believed them when they sent someone that same day to resume work. That was the only employee that was getting anything done but a few days later, he stops working stating that his employer refuses to pay him. Now I’m being told he will resume but history and trust issues have forced me to file a complaint to cover myself.Desired Settlement: Terminate the contract, returning the full deposit plus cover costs that may be incurred if a new contractor determines damage is done or something needs be undone. Or complete the job as promised with the employee who was starting to finally get something done and, because there is definitely a trust issue, a new contract with the 10% discount as promised when given the first offer to vacate the job and a good faith completion date
Review: On September 6, 2014. [redacted] of Scholar Painting LLC was given a $600.00 check as a deposit for a painting job and minor carpentry work that was to be performed in October or November of this year. On November 8th, we had an 11:00am appointment with [redacted] to come over and do another walk through for the work that was to be performed before starting the job on November 13th. [redacted] never showed up did not call. After about an hour (Nov 8th ~12pm) numerous calls was placed to [redacted] but was unable to leave a message due to the voice mailbox being full and unable to accept a message. Between having to work and going to school full-time, I was unable to phone [redacted] again until my first day off which was on Thursday November 13th. The day that the work was suppose to begin. I was able to reach [redacted], when questioned about the missed meeting, I was informed that something personal came up and he had to handle that emergency. He never phoned to cancel. He never even called, to say I am sorry can we reschedule. I had to call him to find out what happened 5 days later on that Thursday. I cancelled the work at this point, (on Nov. 13th) being that he was unreliable, and irresponsible, prior to starting the job. I was told that I would be receiving my deposit back, the company would be issuing me a check and I would receive it by [redacted] on the following week of Nov. 16th. On November 19th, I spoke with [redacted] and was told that I will receive it no latter than Friday or Saturday at the latest. On Saturday Nov. 22nd, No check! I phoned [redacted] left a message on his phone to please call me back. He did not return my call. Today is November 24th, I phoned [redacted] again, No check in the mail. I am tired of being lied to, and I just want results!Desired Settlement: I just want my $600.00 deposit back!
