Review: On 5/28/14, I took my van to SCHNEIDER'S AUTO REPAIR for a state safety inspection/emission and repair. I also called Mr.[redacted] , the owner, previously for an estimate for replacing the right turn signal assembly. After inspection, he gave me an estimate for repairs that were needed to pass the inspection which was incomplete with missing some of the labor charges. Also, He didn't show me what the problems were even though I was waiting at the shop. And the price for replacing the right turn signal assembly was higher than what was previously quoted over the phone. So I asked for a completed estimate. I didn't want to embarrass Mr. [redacted] by mentioning him that the quote he just gave me in person was higher than what was quoted over the phone, in turn I asked for a discount or if I could fix the right turn signal assembly later since it seemed to be just a cosmetic damage. He then said that I wasted too much of his time and he didn't feel like fixing my van and refused to set up for an appointment for re-inspection even though I told him I'll fix all the problems he mentioned and bring it back. Again, I asked him to show me what the problems were on my van but he didn't comply. At this time he'd already charged me the fees for the state inspection. I would like to mention that I never raised my voice and tried to be as polite as possible. Next morning, I took my van to a different repair shop and the mechanic from the shop found a narrow hole about 3-4 inches long on the side of the muffler facing the passenger side. The mechanic said "The problem is saying hello, I'm right here. How can you miss it?" By the way, this was not mentioned on the estimate provided by Mr. [redacted]. In addition, Mr. [redacted] said he needed 2-3 hours for diagnostic tests, without a guarantee, to locate a problem for the brake lights that were just needed to be replaced. Because of Mr. [redacted]s unprofessional conduct, I had wasted so much time and forced to find another mechanic.Desired Settlement: 1. I would like Mr. [redacted] to apologize for wasting my time and being unprofessional.2. Promise to provide better customer service.3. Issue a full refund of $53.45 for the inspection that wasn't done properly (I have to get my van inspected again at a different repair shop), for wasting my time, and inconvenience.
