My time spent was 12-15 hours involved and did not get the job.  I helped him continuously before and after, my contract was to do the whole job and he used my contractor's discount and did not hire me.  I did not design anything, [redacted] did.  I only gave the measurements.  I will...

not be giving back a refund.  My time and my contractor discount which saved them money is reason enough.
