afternoon and authorized work. I explained vehicle would not be complete until Wednesday or Thursday at end of day, they stated that was fine they also asked for a discount which was given for $65.79 customer also wanted to leave a post dated check although hesitant I accepted as in past customer reversed charges on a credit card payment for previous work and had to wait a week to receive reimbursement for what he stated was a mistake even though charges clearly show Car Doctor on statement. Vehicle was diagnosed and needed a coil pack and crankshaft position sensor these parts were installed with a bill still owed of $456.79 which was never paid. Customer called on Wednesday at 6:15pm after business hours left message (saved for police report) he was checking status on vehicle and was going to stop by to check on car. Vehicle was complete except for one issue with security system that required a specific scanning tool which my shop does not have. Therefore the car was brought down the street to another shop that we have done business with for over 20 years for them to scan car in order to get it completed for customer by Thursday when promised. When customer showed up at shop he was extremely rude, aggressive and called police stating his 1996 Mercury Sable was stolen. I spoke with police over phone and they suggested just returning car and be done with situation I agreed. Car was brought back to my shop( 1/2 mile away) and old parts left in vehicle as we always give customers there old parts.
Customer then called 7:02pm, 7:05pm, 7:40pm, 10:13pm, 10:30pm, 12:18pm, 1:45am, 5:27am and 6:10am leavening threatening messages (saved for police report)and claiming we stole items out of car and ransacked car.
Unfortunately, we have received inappropriate messages and complaints from this customer before which we have saved. Customer always complains after leaving our shop but yet continues to bring his vehicle in for repairs.
