The insurance estimate to fix my van was a simple, to day job that went on for more than a month because of the mistakes made by SCA This is regarding Claim XXXXXXXXX in the Hemet, Ca franchiseThis claim was opened on March 30, and went on and on until it was finally done correctly on May 5, The repair was a simple bumper replacement on a Toyota SiennaHowever, the first estimate was completely wrongIt required replacement of parts and work that would have cost my insurance company more than $The shop caught the poorly written estimate and suggested repairs that would have cost less and saved timeThe van then sat at the shop until April when a supplement was finally filedHowever, yet again, the estimate was wrongThe appraiser came to the shop, took pictures and leftWhen the supplement was filed, it called for a "repaired" bumperHowever, the shop needed to "replace" the bumperThe shop was not given an opportunity to discuss or challenge th
Estimates that they had written up were missing damaged parts on themI even have all the damage noted on police report from hit and run accident the complaint that is still in question is from a hit and run accidentEsis Insurance had SCA Appraisal come out too look at both my vehicles and they wrote up estimates, since the accident involved both of my vehicles and the total amount for both estimates was $the estimate I personally had gotten was $they are also missing parts on the estimateI tried talking too them but they just keep saying you need too take your vehicle into a body shopI'm not interested in taking the vehicle in question into a body shop since it has previous damagethey now just brush me offthe reason I want SCA Appraisal company to understand that I AM NOT TAKING MY VEHICLE TO A BODY SHOP and perhaps get another estimate through them so I can reclaim the money that I am owed
I was rearended, SCA claims came out to appraiseI was told they would call when they got to my house because they couldn't set a time Instead he just ninappraised my car in my driveway without knocking on the door or callingI sat around all day(skipped work) waiting for the callIf I would have came out I could have showed him all the damage he missed in his iniatial claim(bent frame end, headlight, etc)So anyways they made the adjustment for $2,500, and it turned out being a total loss once the shop saw all the damageBut we need SCA to come back out to perform new assesementOf course now we can't contact themWe (my bank and I) have tried leaving voicemails, emails, to both the adjuster and the companyMeanwhile I don't have a carVery bad at their job and at handling their business
The appraiser sent to view my Hurricane damaged car lied in his report to the insurance company, according to the State Farm Rep Saying that water in my electronics module was from long term damage is impossible as the car can not be driven in such a condition When the car was given to the garage the module was actually wet! The appraiser quoted garage employees saying fabricated lies Perhaps he gets paid on rejected claims?!
My car was struck by a driver insured by a non-standard insurance companyThis insurance company chose SCA Appraisal Company to make the valuation of my vehicle in order to "get a quick appraisal"I was not contacted to schedule to appraisal, I was not contacted to inform me that the appraisal had been scheduled, and I was not contacted when it was completedThe only reason I knew it had taken place was that the shop called to let me knowThe shop further stated that the appraisal was completed by two men who showed up in two separate unmarked vehiclesThey were wearing no identifiable logo or indicator that they were there to appraise the vehicleThey had no equipment, only a clipboardWhen I contacted the company requesting my appraisal, I received no responseI made two more attempts to get it and on the third, I received an email indicating that they would not be able to give me the appraisal as the vehicle would be deemed a total loss and I would have to get it from the insurance companyI never saw the appraisal until the insurance company offered a settlement that was SIGNIFICANTLY below the value of my carI investigated the appraisal at this time and was completely blown awayThere were numerous errors that lead to the undervaluation of my vehicle: they listed my vehicle as having manual transmission although it does not, it listed damages to my vehicle sustained in the accident as unrelated prior damage even though it is clearly indicated in the claim that they were related to the accident, they even noted that the interior was black cloth when it is beige leatherThey wouldn't have even had to do anything other than run the VIN to get the informationThese are completely easy fixes and someone who has been appraising vehicles for years would NOT make such careless mistakesWhen I presented these findings(and the rest which are too numerous to list) to the insurance company, they returned them to the appraiserI received communication back from the insurance company stating that SCA Appraisal Company will not rate any vehicle under the current model year as being in good condition They changed all my ratings to good anyway in order to settle the claimThey did not make the changes to the evaluation as I asked, they truly made no effort at all to properly appraise my vehicle even when presented with the information to do soI received less money than I was owed on my auto damage claim because of the poor work done by SCA Appraisal Company
Appraiser seemed unskilled, due to the first estimate being $too lowAppraiser was also unprofessional, with a voicemail message stating she was sorry she didn't pick up the phone, but she's really busyWithin two weeks, her voicemail box was fullShe did not return phone calls to either myself (customer), the car garage, the insurance company, and another entityMy supplemental appraisal sat for days, even after a 'rush' was attached, before my insurance company had to call SCA and demand someone else take over my claimShe was located in NY, and her manager was in CAVery unreliable business

If I would have came out I could have showed him all the damage he missed in his iniatial claim(bent frame end, headlight, etc). Of course now we can't contact them. We (my bank and I) have tried leaving voicemails, emails, to both the adjuster and the company. Meanwhile I don't have a car. Very bad at their job and at handling their business.
Adjuster was concerned only with his time schedule and location, had to make time to fit this into his schedule, for HIS convenience. Had me text message him the address to a restaurant nearby to the car's location because he was lost. I don't mind looking up an address and text messaging personally, but who is an appraiser/adjuster without a navigation system of some sort to look up addresses for themselves? When I called back his voicemail isn't for SCA Appraisals at all. Instead, it goes to a message for a church entity with his name for which he must be affiliated. This was unprofessional and leads you to think you may not even be contacting the right person or that it's a scam for your location. Get a second phone line; one for personal use and one for business. Adjuster was friendly in person though when doing inspection. Parked illegally downtown without paying for street parking and parking enforcement told him to move his car. Stated it wouldn't take long and would leave shortly. Paying for parking might just be a cost of doing business. Sorry for the inconvenience.
