I am providing a cut and paste of my filing with the Revdex.com against Eastside The final outcome was nulled by the Revdex.com since, as they saw it, was an issue with *** *** at this juncture and not Eastside based on a Revdex.com call to the business requesting detailsMake of it what you will, but I am posting for all to see: This details my initial filing as well as responses from the business and myselfComplaint Details
I will attempt to be shortSince Dec 2015, I have smelled gas in my houseI have had *** out here times, and on the 4th time they locked my serviceDuring that time, this company was called to come out and check the furnace due to several things*** found a leak in the control valve as well as the connection to my stoveThe first time the company came out, they sent a tech who spoke very little EnglishHe advised he was sent out to make sure the cover was on the furnaceWhich it already wasWhen the *** technician asked him to check the orafice from the control valve, he looked as if he did not understandThat is why the *** tech did itSo the noted are passed from the builder of the house to the companyThey were to arrive on a Friday afternoon, however, I got a call and the tech said he was running late and would not be able to make itFinally, the tech comes out, replaces the control valve and tests the connections, etcAll seems well at this timeHowever, after some running, the smell came backI called the company's emergency line and got a very nice tech on the lineHe showed up at my house and did some testsHe found that the control valve was putting out more gas then could be burned thus could be a contributing factor to the smellHe made adjustments, also tested all connections, and all seemed good to go againHe also went out back and noticed what other people had noticed, and that was the exhaust from the furnace and water heater were being sucked back into the fresh air intake(Note: There was some adjustments made to the exhausts due to this factor, however, it did not resolve the issue)So, fast forward to today, Jan 2016, and I place a call to the company asking for the tech to come back since the smell was still presentI spoke with Peter, and was advised they had been out to my house times, and that none of their equipment was at fault, and that "they were done with me." I asked what he meantHe repeated his statement to me regarding the done with me, and said I needed to talk with *** (the builder)I returned the call since he hung up on me, and left a rather colorful messageI then called an alternate number for the company and got a lady on the phone and asked her the name and number for the ownerShe advised she could not give out the number but she could take a message(She was rather unfriendly as well, but did take some details down)She took my number, name, and addressI asked her to get a hold of "Boe" or "Bo" and told her to tell him that if he did not return my call by end of the day I would be filing a Revdex.com complaint against Peter and the companySo here I amNot only am I amazed at the comment, but the fact that my house is still under warrantyThe fact that gas still is present, or some such smellThe fact this issue has some serious physical (meaning house damage) and personal health issues attached to itThat this person, Peter, would say such a thing to a customer given the serious situationDesired Outcome/Settlement
Desired Settlement: Other (requires explanation)
I would desire contact from the owner as well as Peter, get an apology, and a professional response to the issueI would also like to have them come out and redo the exhaust in a manner fitting the house as well as hopefully correcting the intake issue from the furnaceI did not get a call from the owner, thus the filingWednesday, January 20, This particular home was built by *** ***After talking to the *** representative he was closing the warranty ticket on their end as well, stating no one whom had been in the house could smell gas, except the homeownerWe were here 4-times to check the situation twice was after hours, trying to satisfy the homeowners concerns*** *** said they found an immeasurable leak at the gas valve so it was replaced, everything outside the furnace is not our responsibilityNote: This home is under warranty with *** *** and they should be contacted directly with any warranty issues or concernsThursday, January 21, Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
Yes, it is an *** Home, however, do not confuse what *** says with what, I, as the homeowner says about my house The smell is still present, and I have other witnesses to the fact So please do not assume *** knows everyone whom has been in my residenceYou were out as that is your job That is what you chose to take on as being an emergency contact (see attached) for *** *** was out a total of times Twice they warning tagged my house twice and hazard tagged once The responsibility of *** is to make sure the homeowner is safe from hazards They are not responsible for devices which utilize gas inside the home However, two of the times they were out, the noticed there may have been a contributing factor of how the exhaust and venting may be too close, causing a re-circulation of fumesExtensions were placed on the exhaust piping, however the smell remained Your technicians twice did not show up preparied, or did not show up when asked to due to another job needing to be completed On one occasion, *** had to use their meter for your technician since he didn't seem to understand what *** was telling him That technician said he was just sent to make sure the cover was on the furnace This is a response? You could have called me for thatI have emails from Michael, an *** employee, who has stated to call you for emergency issues I did thatWhen I called last, and got such a disrepectful response from Peter, I was *** As I should be You as a company should never assume that a person "thinks" they smell gas and tell them, you are done with them This is not a cosmetic issue, this is a serious gas smell, leak issue/concernI went so far as to call a third party HVAC company and have them provide me with findings and recommendations I have attached these as well Yes, I paid for it too They have reported there is still a leak from the control valve into the furnace They even smelled the gas when they opened the furnaceYour business practice of shunning a customer in this fashion and the flat out response from Peter is disrespectful and unprofessionalI have supplied some documents for Revdex.com to see what I am referring to I am not certain you can see them or notIf you find some measurable version of respect and professionalism, please reply to my findings as well as the proof provided Do not stand by the statements made by *** as they do not know, nor do you, who has, and has not been in my residenceI would like you to apologize, look at the evidence, and provide a statement that will allow this company to repair the defect, under your warranty, and you covering the costs/payment to them as wellSincerely,

*** Emergency Numbers.pdf
Thursday, January 21, Dear *** ***,
I'm sorry you feel this wayI have checked the venting in pictures my tech took and verified the venting of the furnace is to manufacturers install instructionsThe actual parts within the furnace will always smell like gas due to the marconium used to give natural gas it's distinct smellMonday, January 25, Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
I find this response shows you lack of professionalism as well as your own lack of being an adult You did not address my questions in whole, you did not take my reply as serious is seemsYou seem to shun another technicians findings as non-professional without cause by stating gas smell should be present I am no technician, but I have been around gas furnaces for a majority of my life I know the difference from a slight use smell when compared to an over abundance smellYou did not even look at the time, while on site about the exhaust You failed to provide proof that the extensions added on to the original piping was correct and under the makers recommendations Until now that isSo, are you saying the proof I submitted by the other company is not correct? Are you putting into question, another company's professional findings?
You also failed to offer an apology regarding Peter and his statement to me No customer, regardless of company, should ever hear this from someone in that company I even gave you time to call me and speak to me in person about this, and you failed to do soHow, now, am I to trust your company? You are still listed as the emergency contact should anything happen How am I to place trust in a company for future issues that treats a customer as such? This is not like I am putting this out there over a toaster, this is a house, a furnace, and gas I think it has more weight due to those reasonsTherefore, I reject your reply since it is insincere, lacks any professional response, you were not there, nor did any technicians who arrived, take an actual look at the owners manual at the time and verify the added lengths and curves to the exhaust are within specs, you seem to put doubt in another company's findings without proof, and you failed to offer a statement allowing this company to repair the equipment under your cost and warranty coverageSo, again, offer a personal apology, in writing and phone regarding Peter's statement, let me know that you will allow this other company to perform the work as stated under your warranty hat, and you pay for it, provide me with some measure of trust so that if I have an issue again, outside of the current issue, which still is in effect, that your company can be trusted for future contact and warranty or emergency issues Your responses thus far indicate otherwise, and your lack of personal contact suggests it as wellMaybe this time you will read and comprehend my requests in this response as well as others, and respond as a professionalSincerely,
