Review: Sawa Steakhouse, their Main Office as listed on sawasteakhouse.com, is their Main Office. They issued me a VIP Card about 6 months ago entitling me to a 15% discount on food. The VIP card clearly states for locations, visit their website. I went to the Long Branch location, presented the card, which they took, and simply swiped it to give me "points" for purchasing, instead of the additional 15% discount on food the card I was presented clearly shows. I discussed this with the manager on duty, he refused to credit it and said we do not honor that card at this location. I showed him the website and the VIP card from my phone. He said we are not affiliated. Both statements are lies.... Further, I disputed it with American Express who investigated it. Saw presented a doctored signed credit card receipt. I signed the receipt and wrote all over the bottom of the receipt I was signing under dispute, that 15% discount should have been given. The recipe they presented was copied with this whole section cut off purposely, attempting to mislead American Express.
It is clear form the website that both locations are their only locations. The VIP card says "for locations go to sawasteakhouse.com". I followed all the rules and they deliberately and fraudulently led me to their restaurant again and purposefully, and after heavy discussion did not honor the card they gave me. They are doing business fraudulently and that borders on theft. I have tried to resolve this twice on the phone, and through American Express and they refuse to issue the credit I was entitled to.Desired Settlement: At this point I have invested so much time and effort to try and resolve this for just the entitled 15% refund but now I want credit in full. The business is operating fraudulently and I will not let that go. They need to be penalized of their deliberate actions to fraud myself, then American Express by producing a doctored receipt. People like that should not be in business and the complaint should be made public so others conduced for themselves whether to frequent this place.
