Save On Tires

Regarding Revdex.com ID# [redacted], the following is a response from Joe G[redacted], owner of Save on Tires.   The "customer" that filed this complaint left out prior information that has bearing to his claim. The customer came in March 20, 2015 needing his car to pass the DEQ inspection. After 'coding"...

his car, it was determined that he needed a new catalytic converter. He declined, and ask the mechanic  if he could get it running good enough to pass the inspection. The mechanic was surprisingly able to do so,of the card, and advised the customer that the car still needed a catalytic converter.    When he came back to the shop on May 16, 2017, he again needed the car to pass the DEQ inspection. The mechanic ran the "codes" and determined that the vehicle still needed a catalytic converter, and now had an Evap leak. The customer wanted the least done to get the car to pass the DEQ.   Mr. G[redacted] told him that he would replace the evap hoses and leaks, and cleaned the throttle body, but could not guarantee the vehicle would pass DEQ.  Mr. G[redacted] and Customer agreed on $600.00.    During the time the car was being worked on, the mechanic tried calling the customer, but did not get a response. The vehicle did not pass the DEQ inspection. The customer asked for a refund. Mr. G[redacted] subtracted $100 from the total bill of $600 (price agreed upon), then refunded another $250.00 to the customer.     Our invoices, have a clause that warrants the parts and labor for 90 days or 4000 miles which ever comes first. Because Mr. G[redacted] refunded the $350 (parts), he did not feel that he should have to supply the customer with a warranty, for the remainder of the $250.00.
