Mr. [redacted] was very prompt, called to update his ETA, and was very professional. His rate was very fair and he treated my car with utmost care and respect.

Vehicle was towed. Called within a timely manner to retrieve vehicle and was denied the ability to come get vehicle resulting in additional charges. On 5/31/14 my mother's car was towed from my town home complex. She had parked on the side of the street where there was no indication of a "no parking" zone. We were out shopping and returned home at 4pm to find her car missing. We contacted the police at 4:37pm because we had no idea there was even a contract with a company for towing in this complex nor did we understand why her car may have been towed as she was not illegally parked in a private spot, handicapped spot, blocking a hydrant, blocking a driveway, or parked in a identified "no park zone". Thanks to an observant neighbor, we found out that the car had been towed by Savage Towing. At 5:25pm I attempted to contact Savage Towing for the first time. I made 4 repetitive phone calls because each time I called I got an automated message saying the line was "busy" and to "try your call again later". On the fourth attempt, a man answered and aggressively announced "I AM TRYING TO CALL YOU BACK FROM A LAND LINE!". I replied that I did not know that, and that the phone was telling me it was busy and he had a car that I needed to get back. This car is my mother's only form of transportation and she is single and lives alone, so it was important to go ahead and get her car. At 5:27 the man called me back from a land line. When I asked if we could come get the car and how much it would be, he proceeded to tell me it was going to be $150, he accepted cash only, and that we could NOT get the car because "it's 5:30 on a Saturday afternoon and he has the right to go home if he wants" and he wasn't there to release the car. After clarifying that he was now telling me I could NOT come pay the cash and get the car, he told me "it's my business", "it's my decision". He proceeded to tell me he would call me IF he had to come back out for any reason but, otherwise he would call me when he returned to the lot resulting in additional charges of $25/day for "storage fees". I asked if he would like my mother's number to call her when she could come get her car, since she was the registered owner, and he said "no, you can text me her number if you want". I denied and told him he could just call me.This man was extremely rude and unprofessional and most of all I believe he is unjust in denying someone the right to obtain their property when offering proper payment and he was contacted within a timely manner. He denied the release of my mother's car resulting in additional unnecessary charges. He finagled his way into more money by unjustly denying my mother the right to obtain the vehicle she owns from his possession, despite offering cash payment of the requested amount. Regardless of whether or not my mother was parked in a spot not suitable for parking based on the guidelines of my complex, there is no clear marking that there is a no parking zone or towing enforced. Likewise, denial of someone to obtain their personal property is absurd. His additional charge of $25 is merely due to his refusal to let us get her car; not for any other reason. When contacted later on, again, to see if it was possible to retrieve the car. He stated "if you want me to meet you out there now, it'll cost you another $75". That option was declined on our part, as this seems to be more of a money haggling process resulting in the opportunity for him to wrongfully create additional charges.Desired SettlementMinimum refund of each additional $25 "storage fee" charge but, seeking full refund of amount paid due to unprofessional, unethical personal treatment, wrongful denial of access to personal property, and unjust additional charges.

Extortion. Holding vehicle. Rude. Changing the rules. On Sept 10th 2014, I parked my vehicle on the street outside the door of my townhouse at 7am. After 2 hours at 9 am I noticed the car was gone. I called Savage towing and told them the car was illegally parked, by fire hydrant, no parking zone or red or yellow marked spot. [redacted] the owner of Savage first told me he didnt tow the car, then her asked me to call his cell phone, then he said it was going to be $150.00. I called his cell phone and aked him where to pick up the car and he wouldnt tell me he hang up. I [redacted] his address and drove there with $150 in cash. He refused to release the car. I called Cary Police and they said it was a civil matter. I called my lawyer who spoke to Savage lawyer, Savage lawyer said we need to get California to send a renewed registration paperwork or tow the car out of the premises. I called [redacted] to come and tow my car home. While we were waiting for [redacted], [redacted] the owner of Savage, got in his truck and left and said if' "if I wait for [redacted], you have to pay me $175 per hour". He took of and left us standing there waiting for the [redacted]. When [redacted] got the impound [redacted] said its closing time, we have to come back tomorrow and pay additional storage. We went home disappointed and came back the following day early morning with another tow truck to tow our vehicle. [redacted] said he had waited for the tow truck for 9 minutes so we have to pay him on top of the $25 additional fees another $45 for waiting for our tow truck. I ended up paying [redacted] $220 plus paying the tow truck driver to tow my car home an additional $165. Total cost was almost $400 for towing from a safe spot. Desired SettlementIllegal tow cost $400.

I was towed and then there was an attempt to extort money from me. Savage towing was mean, unprofessional and nasty. [redacted] Savage didnt keep his word.On 6/13/15, I stopped to visit a friend who was getting married. I picked up my tuxedo and stopped by his home. I pulled into an open spot and parked. There were no signs, I was not on the lawn and didn't block a hydrant or driveway, I'm a New Yorker and have never been towed, ever! I greeted his parents, children and family. I looked out of the window and my vehicle was gone. Upon investigation I realized that my car was towed and I immediately called the towing company savage towing. [redacted] Savage stated he locked up the vehicle and was on his way home. He tried to get nasty and I informed him that conflict was unnecessary I was a [redacted] and taking part in a wedding where the tuxedo was in the car. He acknowledged that I handled the situation better than most people and gave me his fee of $150 in cash only, and the location of the towing yard, [redacted] Phone: (919)[redacted] . He stated he would contact me in a about 30 minutes. Lie #1 - This time passed and there was no return call. I called him and he stated that there were two people that he would return to meet.Lie #2 - He stated that upon returning the price of $150 would be increased for his convenience. I refused the shake down and assured him that I kept my word and showed up with the $150 cash as he originally stated. The housing authority and the towing company are both at fault and have established this practice that is harmful to many.Lie #3 - 24 hour operation. His website states that he operates 24 hours. He told the police officer, the groom to be and I that this was not true. This is a lie.http://[redacted]/lie #4 - At this time he refused to come as he stated he would (due to my refusal of any extra fees.) and I had to call the police who documented this waste of time and money. the groom to be and I spoke with him several times and he continued to stated how is calling the police working for you. He has no respect for others time and money and disgraced us and ruined the bachelor party and wedding ceremony with over 120 guests. I wasted hours waiting at his lot and the police arrived on the scene and took our statement and established a meeting time the next day.Lie #5 - The meeting time established was 9am and the wedding was almost two hours away. [redacted] Savage arrived by 9:15am after I called him twice to assure he arrived to allow us to make the wedding plans. I was late to the schedule wedding time but thanked God that I made it with the tuxedo.[redacted]Desired SettlementI want reimbursement for the rental car and tow charges.

I was parked in a legal parking spot and [redacted] told me that he did not like how I was parked in the spot so he towed my car. The towing occurred on April 15, 2015 at the [redacted]. [redacted] towed my car from the parking space on[redacted] in the Townhome complex. He said he did not like how I was parked in the space so he towed me. He said I needed to pay $150 in cash to get my car or call and come get it from the towing lot by 5:30pm but make sure to call because he would decide if he was going to go back to the lot or not and that no body will tell him how to run his business. He said I would need to provide my registration to confirm that it is my car when I picked it up. When I got to the lot 15/20 minutes later he took the cash , gave me a receipt and had the gate open for me to take my car. He never asked for my registration and I said to him, "you are not going to check my registration to confirm that this is my car?" He said, "you said it was your car". I found an HOA parking guideline online that states that parking on[redacted] and [redacted] is ok as long as you are on the correct side of the road, which I was. Also, that if guests of residents will be parking there longer than 24 hours to notify the community. It also states that if there are parking violations that you are to receive a warning. I parked my car at 12:05 pm and my car was on the tow truck at 12:15. [redacted] stated I was in a parking space but did not like how I was parked in the space so I needed to give him $150 cash in order to get my car back. As far as I am concerned, [redacted] stole my car and used his business license to do it and made me pay to get my car back. He is abusing his business license. This is unacceptable. Desired SettlementI would like to be reimbursed the $150 that I paid to [redacted] to get my car.

Savage Towing damaged my car and refused to fix the damage. On 7/19/14 Savage Towing damaged my car when they towed it. He put lots of scratches on my bumper, broke the headlight, and cracked the grill. When I pointed out the damage, Savage denied it and said I would have to sue him. He mocked me when he left saying good luck with your lawsuit. He pulled the car out so forcefully that he left skid marks on the pavement where the car was. He is not professional nor pleasant, and he does not take responsibility for damage caused by his business.Desired SettlementPayment for car repairs and costs, $2,369.38.
