The client has been refunded their registration fees as of 2/8/2016. We work hard to provide great events for good causes to players and their families. Over the past year we have raised a considerable amount of money for the causes that are near to us. It is unfortunate that this...
has happened. We respect and appreciate the support that has been given at our events and are sorry to lose a family. It is important to us that situations like this are made right.
I have communicated with the [redacted] and I believe there were some misunderstandings. They are good people and it is unfortunate that there was not a clearer understanding of the refund policy. As a possible confusion in this complaint, the other party withdrew their teams from the...
event and as a result we were short, thus ending up having to cancel the event. Had the event been canceled before they withdrew then absolutely our refund policy states a full refund is offered. As you can see in the thread above the initial offer was to roll the registration fee to another team, not issue a refund. Deposits are collected in order to cover out of pocket expenses and to make sure we have secured enough teams in each division. The refund policy is posted on our site and was missed by the [redacted] I believe we are on the same page at this point. In efforts to prevent this from ever happening again we no longer accept registrations by mail or over the phone. Applicants are forced to register online so they have to sign the refund policy and there is no confusion.[redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: There wasn't enough teams to make the tournament possible regardless of when I withdrew my teams (two months in advance is plenty of [redacted]e to decide if the tourney can go forward. I was not a last minute decision.) Here's [redacted]'s email stating that fact:Hi [redacted], got your message. It sucked having to pull the plus. We could have pushed it through but there were a couple of teams that I think way outmatched the others and we did not have enough to pull off an A and a B division. The Canadian teams had a local event that weekend that cost us about 15 teams that we were expecting. The decision wasn't based on us, but the fact that another tournament was going on at the same time. Regardless, there's still the concern about receiving the $2,100. Until that's completed, this issue is not resolved.
