Review: I received a proposal for a solar power system from Go Green Power Systems, a division of Sass Electric. The company's recommended location for the solar system was well hidden from our house and neighboring houses by trees, which was a good thing in regards to aesthetics. However, I expressed concern to Sass regarding how much the shading from the trees might reduce the production from the solar system at this location. Sass had someone come out to do a shading study, after which Sass concluded that the "system, without trimming any trees, bushes, etc, will produce 90% of the system designed for ... 20,400 kwh per year." Based on these assurances, I decided to proceed with the Sass solar system. Unfortunately, rather than produce the expected 90% of the system design output, the system is on track to produce only about 68% of the system design output. Our SDG&E power bill for the year, rather than drop to a few hundred dollars for the year as was expected, will be about $1,500 for the year, a trend which will continue year to year if not remedied.

I have been attempting to resolve the issue with Sass for several months. It appears that 11 additional panels would be required to generate the power promised by Sass. However, Sass refuses to install any additional panels without charge.Desired Settlement: Installation of sufficient additional panels for the system to generate the expected output. It appears that this will require installation of 11 additional panels. Also reimbursement of the $1500 SDG&E bill.
