The customer who has issued the complaint did make a purchase on our eBay store
He made a purchase offer of $on an item that had a buy-it-now price of $We accepted that bid, as we found it reasonableThe item was set to be shipped using expedited shipping (USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope) at the price of $5.60, bringing the total cost for the customer to $
The customer in question asked to switch the shipping method to standard shippingAfter our eBay shipping associate assessed that this shipping method (standard) would cost more than the flat rate envelope, and letting the customer know this, the customer then asked to change his offer from $to $
We found this offer unacceptable, as the selling price for this item (not including shipping) is approximately $The customer was notified of this, and we suggested that the order be canceled if he was unwilling to follow through with his initial offer
He responded by sending the following message on eBay: "Screw you then, you can't force people to pay your inflated shipping chargesFound it cheaper from another seller with free shipping already anyway"This message was sent on August 26th,
As the customer had used abusive language, and was no longer interested in the order, we attempted to cancel the order on our end
That same day (Aug26th), the customer rejected our cancellation requestOn the following day (Aug.27th), we received a message from the customer saying that he had sent the funds through, and asked for a tracking number
We then replied that since he had said he had found another seller, we had already attempted to cancel the orderHe acknowledged that he had rejected the cancellationWe sent two follmessages to make sure that the customer was satisfied with the shipping price, and that there would be no further misunderstandings or problemsThe customer then replied with another abusive comment
All of the correspondence mentioned herein took place through the eBay messaging system, and we have retained copies of the correspondence for our own recordsIn an attempt to handle the situation in the most professional manner possible, we simply shipped the itemThe item was shipped on August 30th,
