Santos Heating & Cooling Inc

Review: On July 9, 2014, I contacted Santos Heating and Cooling Inc. because my central air system was backed-up and it flooded the laundry room. I told [redacted]s that I was not sure what the problem is, but that it may need to be serviced. We discussed costs and payment arrangements. He stated that he charges $125.00 to diagnose the problem and does not accept credit cards. I agreed to this amount and told him that my tenant who is residing there would pay him. I asked him to contact me once he discovered the problem to discuss further costs to fix it. Unfortunately, I never heard back from the company. Around 6:00 pm on 7/10/14, I was contacted by my tenant and she reported that she was charged $290.00 by Santos Heating and Cooling Inc. to fix the issue. When I inquired about what the problem was, she indicated that the company identified the thermostat as the problem and changed it. I did not understand how the thermostat could cause this flooding so I called Santos Heating and Cooling Inc. to request an explanation. I left the company a message and did not hear back from them. As of today, (7/11/14) my laundry room is still flooding, I don't know what is causing the problem, I'm out of $290.00 and Santos Heating and Cooling Inc. is not returning my call. I called another company today to service the AC and was told that it will cost $180.00.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund. The company can keep their diagnostic fee even though they failed to properly diagnose the problem. They did not contact me do discuss the problem and the cost to fix it. They fixed it without permission and damaged the wall area around the thermostat in the process.
