My husband and I were given 4 tickets to attend the North Pole as a gift in order to take our two young boys. The tickets provide the date of June 29- December 22 on them for being open. We had made plans to go up in October before Halloween as it was the only time frame we could go. Figuring it was not a problem according to the tickets, which I still have.
We arrived to the area after driving for 3 hours to get there. When we drive closer I was able to notice the sign before we got there as we entered the town. At this time I started to notice some other date information action. As we go to the Santa's workshop the parking lot was empty and the place was closed. Now, two disappointed boys. I checked the website for the dates. At first it was not easy to find as it didn't show anything about the times when you first clicked the link. Here is was thinking it wasn't loading right. Then I realized you have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page to see the times. Business wise, poor web design. Not easy to notice at all.
We did contact them after the fact hoping to be able to use our tickets maybe in the 2020 season as we would not have a chance to get back with our work schedules and the holidays. The management had poor customer service and gave us a 'oh well' attitude and told us we should of checked the website. I again recently last week contacted them again and my husband made the first call. Was told I would get a call back last Thursday when the manager was in. A week later still no call. Just really bad customer service and now our gift is useless.
We use a service, ***, for online ticket sales, and this was our first season with this company. ***, like most online ticketing companies, are made mostly for a ticketed event that happens on a certain day, like a concert. It is almost impossible to set up a general admission ticket, let alone a general admission ticket that is good for an operating day. In order for us to combat this problem, on the order page, we include a calendar with our operating days and say General Admission Tickets are good for any operating day from June X - Dec Y. We assume they have a date in mind when they purchase the tickets. The tickets are then emailed in a general email that *** provides, which has a link to the event details, again with a calendar of operating dates. Also included in the email, is the ticket, which can be read by scanners they supply for our entrance gate. The complaint in question received the tickets as a gift, and proceeded to come on a day we were not in operation. I do not know exactly what was said to the guest when they called and talked to management back in October, but our policy is to let a guest know the tickets are good for any operating day of that year, but are not refundable. The guest then called in our off-season, where we have very limited staff. This is the first time I had heard of the problem, and was given a given window of when I could call them. At this time of year, I am usually in once or twice a week for just a few hours. I was not available during the window of time that was allotted by the guest, and the note to call them was buried under other work when I arrived back to work. Now that I have received this complaint from the Revdex.com, I feel that this guest is inconsolable and no further action will be taken. I thank you for your time. Please let me know if you need any more information. Sincerely, Matthew S General Manager
