Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2016/07/14) */
It is unfortunate that we could not come to an agreement and I apologize for any inconvenience. I would like to mention that I have been working in the auto body industry since the early 1970s. I have a long history of great customer service...

and quality auto body work that was featured in numerous magazines. I treat all my customers with the utmost respect and try to accommodate their needs. However, this specific customer wanted me to engage in fraud and was upset when I declined.
When I presented the customer with an estimate for the Toyota Sienna and the Toyota Tundra, he claimed that it was too expensive. I respectfully advised him to take his car to Macco or One Day Paint & Auto because their prices are more economical. He claimed that he wanted higher quality work and signed my estimate. Three days after the customer dropped off his Toyota Sienna and the Toyota Tundra, I informed him that the vehicles were ready to pick up. When he arrived, he asked if I could work on the bumper and the front grill of the Tundra for the same price. As a business owner who values his customers, I worked on the bumper and the grill for no charge. Then, the customer asked me if I could contact the insurance and tell them that I needed more time to complete the Sienna so he could continue using the rental car. I was discombobulated and informed him that I could not do it because it was considered fraud. At this point, the Sienna was complete.
In addition, as the customer stated, I painted the faded roof of the 2007 Toyota Tundra. After I completed the job, the customer wanted me to create a fraudulent note stating that the cause for the faded roof was the soap that a specific car wash used. He informed me that he had the intensions of suing a car wash to pay for the expenses of the Toyota Tundra. Again, I was perplexed by what he was asking me to do and informed him that this was also considered fraud. I explained to him that the roof was faded because the paint was old. He was angry with me and told me that I had nothing to lose. I apologized to him and respectfully declined to get involved. He got angry and threatened to sue me. I then gave him his keys and watched him leave.
My wife and I are working with his insurance to solve this case. We also continue to reflect on this experience and are actively searching for ways to improve our services.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2016/07/20) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Over the last 20+ years and whenever I needed car body work, I always took my cars to Caliber in Rancho Cucamonga and the records clearly show that.
Unfortunately this individual is a spin master of telling lies and twisting the truth badly. none of these conversation took place at all. I have paid for the Tundra out of my own pocket and the insurance has nothing to do with it. once again this individual and his wife were customers of mine. they brought there laptop to fix and that's how I was introduce to them. my only mistake is that I wanted to use and help the local small businesses. I'm a professional by trade and I will never get engage or agree in a fraud transaction.
Unfortunately, he twisted the truth so bad that all our insurance problems and high prices are caused by people like him.
I was the one who asked him to contact the insurance to extend the rental, because he didn't do a good job at all and I refused to sign for the car and I proceeded to call the insurance company myself and inform them that I'm having issues with this individual. his work was so sloppy and unprofessional. when I went the following day back to the shop to show him the dent in the roof that he overlooked, he became very belligerent and obnoxious. I'm willing to show his work to any body shop professionals. this individual was out there for a quick profit and I doubt if he was the one who did the work.
furthermore, I have overlooked so many negative signs that was alarming. he bad mouth all of his neighbors and describe them as unprofessional and stupid don't know what they are doing.
bottom line I really don't want other consumers to be taken for a ride by a dishonest and a thug mentality individual like this guy. I have already submitted a small claim case to recuperate my loses.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2016/07/28) */
Please remember that this is a platform to resolve our issues and not to attack each other's character. Your claims are invalid and you provide no evidence. I refuse to continue being disrespected by you and I will also not give you a refund for my quality work. I stated what was necessary in my initial response. Your insurance and I look forward to settling this case in court.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 17, 2016/07/31) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
the attached pictures don't show the bad work he did. the Tundra Roof has a very feasible dent. the deal was to fix the roof fully not just paint WITHOUT fixing the dent.
and I have taken the Tundra twice for the door dent and still didn't fix it fully.
As far as the Siena, the sliding door dent, the first time was done so bad that a novice person can tell that wasn't done right and he acknowledged that and he had to redo again.
in short I have to return both cars to get an ok work done...
unfortunately, I didn't look at the tundra roof until after the fact. when I have returned the following day to show him the roof dent, he became belligerent and unprofessional with name calling etc...
indeed the court will decide ..
