Review: My estranged husband had taken my dog without my knowledge and brought her to Santa Paula Animal Rescue on 9/20/2014. My dog was microchip and has current Vx. I have all medical documents on my dog as she is registered to me. I just moved from Phoenix. My estranged husband is not the owner nor is he on any of my dogs medical documents. What upsets me is that all my estranged husband had to do was show up with my dog with a copy of her rabies certificate which had only my name on it, not his. Also he had our rental agreement along with 40 dollar fee for them to take my dog. No questions asked! I was not present nor did I receive a call from them to authorize this. Sadly my dog was adopted the very next day after she was brought there. I hurt everyday for her as she is my family. I called on 9/23 and was told there was nothing I could do at this point. I emailed on 9/25 and I got no response. I called again on 10/1 to speak to a manager, the woman first was a little too personal with asking questions about my marriage and than said she would call the new owner of my dog and talk to her to see if she would be willing to give my dog back, this was at 2:40pm. I never received a call back. I called back on 10/2 and no answer, left a message. It's now 10/3 where is my dog? Where is my call back, like I was promised? I got nothing. No shelter or rescue should ever take in a pet from anyone but the owner, especially if the pet is microchip and fully vx. Regardless of any document the person may have, especially if their name isn't on it.Desired Settlement: I want my dog (Ginger) back. Nothing will replace her.
