Horrible. I found a truck on the Car Guru app for $24600. The salesman Conner tried telling me that they have to put these extra fees for what they did to the truck($3500). I said no, you need to honor the advertised price that was quoted on the car guru app, there is nothing on that app that indicated there are additional fees. This is false advertising. They could care less.

Its really not worth you time to go there. I was literally the only customer in the whole office. Everyone was one their phones, not working or selling cars.

LMAO and the only customer who is ready to buy with an out the door price of the advertised price and the tax title and license only.

They refused and said they wont waive the fees because they would lose too much money. I was your only customer from 3-6 pm on a Friday. Your not making any money at all to lose anyways. So I told you I wold put this review on the Revdex.com here it is.

They said Sands is a family business and Mr. Sands comes in frequently. He must be real simple, slow and shady since big business stupidity generally starts from the top down. There was a few more issues that I want to get into but wont because I see all the other 1 star reviews, and feel as though I am now part of a group of folks that will always remember how bad Sands Chevrolet is.

Stay away, they dont deserve your business.

This place is an absolute joke. Do not, I repeat DO NOT waste your time and energy doing business with them. From the very beginning I got fed nothing but lies from these crooks. Ended up having to travel to the dealership not once, not twice, but FOUR times just to get my car on the road. A month after signing papers and taking my car home I had to return to resign papers in financing. Then when it came time to get my plates that turned into a full time job. My temporary plates expired on 1/13/20 which was the first day I reached back out to this establishment to find out where they were. Nothing. I called the dealership every single day for a WEEK with no help. Every time I would call I would get transferred to someone else who wouldn't answer their phone. I'd leave voicemail after voicemail with no call back. I even personally reached out to my salesman with no response. Finally after a week of this I started getting frustrated and threatened taking them to the Revdex.com. I got transferred to my salesman who finally decided to answer and he said he'd call me back in ten minutes with an answer. Well GUESS WHAT! 4 days go by with NO WORD. Finally after u texted my salesman again today again threatening a bad review on this website I get a text back from him apologizing he hasn't got back to me and that he was busy with other customers. Umm okay, so your busy for 4 days straight? Not acceptable. Finally ended up getting a call today on 1/21/20 that I could go pick up my plates at the dealership. Really? Thought they were supposed to come in the mail? Needless to say, this place is a joke. Customer service sucks. And all these ss do is lie to get a commission check.

Purchased a used vehicle Malibu 2016 35k miles and had 1 day check engine light comes on . We dropped off the vehicle immediately w/ the vehicle stalling out on the way there . Service calls me today and says the pistons are bad which means there is a engine problem. At that point my investment in this vehicle is needs to come to a stop. I called GM Bobby and he is persistent telling I can’t just get out of deal and that I’m pretty much stuck with the car. I called Global lending services to find out my deal has not funded or have my paper work - I am requesting my full refund of 2k down and this deal to be cancelled .

Mr. came into the dealership on 08/29/2019. We are happy to say that Sands and Mr. were able to come to an agreement that met the bank requirements and we were able to cancel the purchase on the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu and get Mr. into a new 2019 Chevrolet Sonic! Mr. is happy with the solution to his complaint with Revdex.com.

Buyer beware!!

I purchased a car this past weekend at Sands Chevy in Glendale. The sales man walked me though the lot showing me several cars that I was interested in. I fell in love with one in particular and if they were able to meet my payment, I would purchase the car. I asked several questions about the car one being about XM radio and how to I transfer the service from my old car to this one, the sales guy told me before I leave we can do that. Well in the midst of moving stuff from my old car, the heat we forgot to transfer it. I get home that night figured I would take care of it myself and I come to find out the car doesn’t have XM radio. I texted the sales guy and he said it does. Long story short a customer service manager called me (Michelle) and basically told me “I’m sorry you were lied to We will talk with the sales guy and train him better, so for your inconvenience we will gas up your tank and pay for a 20.00 cord that you can stream from your phone. Again I am sorry.” I am not happy with that answer. I am in the car a lot and this would have been a deal breaker, I am not using my own data to stream. Also Chevy uses a point system now and I was told they would credit my account 21K points, well again I am missing 1K points and I again told them and the said “oh sorry, we will give you a 5.00 gas gift card” in place of the missing 1K points.

on December 6th I took my 2011 impala in for service and they did work and kept the car until the 12th when I picked the car up it still made the same noise that I took it in for so I took it rite back the same night and was dropped off by LYFT .... they fixed the problem but when I looked at my receipts I noticed that they did not do 2 different jobs that I payed for...I called them and told them so they said bring it back up there so they can fix it ...I took it back and they fixed it they say but I am still noticing certain smells still, and temperature gauge still same place when first complained , so I took the car back on January 2nd and they did more repairs to fix problem they kept the car until the 8th this time and when I picked it up I had a theft someone stole everything from the inside of my car over 150.00 worth of things and now I am hearing a whole new noise since getting it back. I called them and told them, but they said I cant bring it back until they find out who stole my property , when they check the cameras on Friday 11th

I wasnt happy with anything and never told them that my car wasnt making noise for 2 weeks I'm still waiting on response to my property missing out my car they are taking forever to give me a check for my property missing

Sands Chevrolet Response • Mar 11, 2019

Our Service Manager, Todd F, told Mr. that in a manner of Good faith, Sands would issue him a reimbursement check for $150.00 which is the agreed amount for items that we allegedly missing from his vehicle (Sands could not verify on camera). This check has been issued and is being held by Mr. F. As an additional portion of the settlement, Mr. was to update the Revdex.com complaint. Once he updates the Revdex.com on the complaint as satisfied, Sands would release the check. The complaint has not been updated and Mr. has not contacted Mr. F in regards to any additional issues with the vehicle.

We've been here a number of times, and outside of the customer service of Matthew in service who is great, its been terrible. We have brought our car in for warranty work a number of times, and shortly there after the same stuff breaks. One of the things we paid for was having all the tubes and hoses replaced for the cooling system. Last tuesday, we went in for an oil change. They said we had a coolant leak and we needed to bring it back immediately. We brought it back Saturday. They then claimed there was no leak and that something with the thermostat just needed to be screwed in. Two days later, the car overheats. We get it towed to a different dealership. The service rep there did some research and came to realize that Sands Chevrolet is at fault for our current problem. That the parts were not installed properly and that it was on them to pay for it. This very awesome service rep from Midway Chevrolet contacts the service department at Sands. Sands refuses to do anything about it. On top of it all, when we were there Saturday, they were really trying to high pressure us into a car we didnt want. The sales manager Garrett kept hinting at how we should trade in right away, because if something happens to the car they wont take it. Suddenly when they realized we werent going to buy, the car was given back with no work actually done. Two days later all the hoses go. Sands Chevrolet is extremely shady. Slimey sales tactics. They were very negligent on our repairs. Oh yeah, and on top of it, the consignor for our loan allowed them to do a credit check to see what we might qualify for. In the 3 days since then there has been fraudulent activity associated with their credit. So do yourself a favor, and stay far far away from this place. They are shady, slimey and eager to rip you off for their own benefit.

I bought my car maybe 4-5 months ago put 5000.00 cash down on a used vehicle. I bought an extension warranty. I didn’t think twice because I was in an accident like 2/2018 and my family needed a vehicle. Sands Chevrolet worked hard on getting me my vehicle but since I purchased it I’ve has so many issues. I don’t know what they do with the inspection process when they purchase the vehicles but it is not enough! I feel ripped off and about 3 weeks ago I paid another 1586.00 thinking my warranty covered most of what needed to be fixed and now I’m still having the same issues I have 4 children no vehicle and waiting for Sands Chevrolet to decide what is going to happen this shouldn’t happen to people who think dealerships do the right thing. I am a working mother and I work very hard to maintain and upkeep my vehicle. I didn’t for one second a dealership would really burn people like this! World class dealership trusting I would get good quality and I completely got screwed. This is completely and utterly disgusting! This dealership should Aware of what kind of vehicles they sell to people!

Ms. has brought her vehicle back in for additional repairs at no charge to her. She is now driving her vehicle for a few days to make sure she is satisfied with the repairs. If she feels there is still something wrong with the vehicle, our Used Car Sales Manager, Zellar J, has asked her to bring it back in for the service department to evaluate the vehicle again or he would try to assist her into getting a different vehicle.

The worse dealership ever. Stay away from them. Really bad experience!!!

Extremely dissatisfied.

In June 2017, I traded in my vehicle (2005 Nissan Altima) for a pre owned vehicle at Sands Chevrolet (2013 Chevrolet Camaro). The salesman asked for the 2005 Altimas title (opened) to proceed with trade in offer, I provided him the title and handed over the vehicle to him plus $300 for the downpayment. May 2018 I receive a letter stating that the vehicle I "own" (2005 Nissan Altima) has been sitting in a tow yard and deemed abandoned. The towyard is requesting $500 abandonment fee for a vehicle I no longer own. I tried reaching the owner/manager at Sands Chevrolet but I keep getting sent to a new salesman or finance managers who are unable to help. They state that there is no record of the vehicle ever being traded in at the location and that they do not have the original contract in file, I was never provided a contract for the sale or trade in, salesman stated he would be mailing one to me but never did. Recently a customer service representative stated that Sands would pay for the fee, I asked him about my vehicle and if I would get it back or refunded since it was traded in for pretty much free and he said no because there is no proof. I requested him to look for the original contract and denied to. I now have an abandoment fee on my MVR and am risking losing my driving privileges due to fraudelent service at Sands Chevrolet.

I bought a used truck on 6/21/2018 from the above dealer. Upon purchase I was assured by the used car manager Jose, Joseph and salesperson Dee that if there were any safety issues the vehicle could be brought back with 30 days or 1000 miles. Our contract also states that we have 15 days or 500 miles to have everything repaired or get a refund. This is pursuant to ARS 44-1267. The dealership also states it gives every used vehicle a 170 point safety inspection before it is put out for sale. The truck I purchased was checked out by my personal mechanic the following week on 6/27/18 due to the truck making a whining sound. My mechanic determined that this truck has been submerged in salt water up to its engine block. The engine has multiple areas of rust present. The trucks under carriage has rust present with rusted bolts. The trucks interior carpeting has been replaced and when you look underneath there is rust. There is rust and coercion in the folds at the bottom of the doors. The front end of the truck has also been painted and the bed has been removed. My mechanic determined that the sound was the rackin pinion steering is failing and needs to be replaced. This is a safety issue. The Car Fax shows no accidents but there has clearly been work done. This truck came from Arkansas in 4/2018. When I brought all of this to the attention of Jose he told me that rust was not a big deal. He also stated that the mechanics determination about the rackin pinion steering was just a suggestion. My wife spoke with Steve N the new car sales manager who stated that he would undo the contract but then after finding out on 6/29/18 that the dealer had received the funds from the financial institution for our loan he refused. They are no trying to force us to trade it for a different vehicle that we don’t want.

On 11-16-2017 I traded my 2017 Camaro for a 2017 Chevy Cruze Premier with an upside down loan of $16,000. I specifically told the Financial Loan Officer that I didn't want any extra cost like the Gap Insurance and the other insurance that they automatically added on to my Camaro. Drew (the loan officer said ok and he wouldn't add on anything extra. The cost of my New Chevy Cruze Premier ended up being $43,485.38. I looked at my contract when I got home and he added on extra insurance that I specifically told him nearly 10 times not to add on and I noticed there was a $2222 charge for the insurance. On 12-21-17 I went to the dealer and talked with the loan officer (Drew) and told him my concern and he said that he would send the Financial Company (First Tech Federal Credit Union)to take the charge off of my current Loan. He said it would take 6-8 weeks and 8 weeks has already come and gone without any incident. Also, I put $4000 more down for my new car and they have on my contract that I only put down $3500. Drew didn't even put my vin # or address on the paper like he wasn't even going to send it to them.so I asked him if he was going to write it on there, and he did. Also , when I bought my car from them, they had to rewash it and there was a scratch on it. It didn't have a owners manuel or floor matts. I had to go back another day to get them. The salesman was very polite (Nate) and understood the importance of them not adding any extra charges, but Drew (Loan Officer) still did. On January 25,2018 I called First Tech to see if they had received anything from Sands and they said no, they haven't heard or received anything at all. Please take care of this matter. I also know another person that tried to buy a car from Sands and she said they also added extra charges to her car total, but she was smart and didn't get the car. I would appreciate any assistance in this manner. Thank you

on 02/09/18 I went to purchase a 2016 Toyota Corolla with Sands Chevrolet in the evening with a 6 pm appointment, after being solicited by them after having a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy discharge and given a coupon for $35,000.00 in credit to get into a vehicle with them with their fresh start program. I went there and they kept running my credit, I already showed them my score and the bankruptcy listed, etc. We long story short, they told me I got the loan but I couldn't take the car off the lot without full coverage insurance. My carrier/agent was not 24 hours, so I frantically worked that out the next morning so I could bring my new car home. I insured THAT CAR with full coverage insurance spending $298.00. I got the car and came home on 02/10/18 in the afternoon and had it parked that weekend since I had to watch my grandson and I was sick. I noticed there were more hard inquiries on my credit report. There was 3 done while I was at the car lot, 5 done in total on 02/09/18, 3 more on Monday, 02/12/18. I texted the Sales rep I was dealing with , Dominique on what was going on Monday, but there was no reply, then on Tuesday 02/13/18 I get a call saying I have to bring the car back, my loan was not approved. Long story short, I was not gonna have a co-signer, I can afford the car and they should have just approved me by the offer they were sending me after having a bankruptcy done. Now I'm trying to get my insurance refunded to me and they wont give my agent verification that the car was returned they need to deal with me, but they are not answering my calls, calling me back or replying to my texts. I left on bad terms cause things got heated cause they wanted me to leave the premises when I started explaining how upset I was at the situation and they had a whole room full of new potential clients. I would have preferred going home without a car Friday 02/09/18 instead of dealing with this frustrating and shady practices they did to me!

Thank you for the call today Zeller.
I have done further research on this car, as I was not told the purchase price, I just wanted the car. I currently pay $440.00 a month and have an excellent pay record on my last and current vehicle with B&G auto. I just dont like the car im in now, and was going to return it.
I found the same car in Cali listed b*** and for a lower price than the KBB listed b***. I did find a couple more from Camelback Toyota for the same model and low mileage for $14K and $209.00 montly payments. Please see if you can make the prices commensurate to those other locations and I would be happy to still do business with you.

Customer Response • Mar 15, 2018

Mr. Zeller did contact me and emailed me a letter to prove the car was returned to their lot, but there was still an issue about the hits to my credit report by their company. I DID NOT ALLOW OR APPROVE 9 REQUESTS OR HITS TO MY CREDIT REPORT FOR THIS LOAN. IN FACT, WHEN WAS ON THE LOT I GOT NOTIFICATION FROM CREDIT KARMA ON 3 INQUIRIES AND TOLD MY SALESMAN WHAT THE HECK?!! iF THERE'S AN ISSUE THEY NEED TO STOP, THEN WHEN I ALREADY HAD THE CAR, THEY RAN MY CREDIT ANOTHER 6 TIMES BETWEEN 02/09/18 TO 02/12/18.

THIS ACTION DROPPED MY SCORE FROM 628 TO 585 TO DATE. I would like this rectified.

And he still never returned my call to put me in something comparable to the 2016 Toyota Corolla car I had and, which I told him he was running my purchase price over $9,000 over Kelly Blue Book after doing more research on their practices. I was not told what the purchase price, they just asked me what I was able to pay, and this car was just sold on 03/01/18 due to their messed up ways of handling business.

Our Sales Manager, Zellar J, spoke with Ms. in length on Friday, March 23. It does state on our credit application that we can submit to multiple creditors. Some of these creditors may choose to run an different type of credit bureau. It is the lending institution that makes the final decision on how much can be borrowed, the interest rate, the monthly payment as well as the amount required down. Attached is a copy of our credit application. Mr. J did apologize for any inconvenience and told Ms. if there is anything he could do to help please do not hesitate to call, text or email him at anytime.

Horrible customer service! I took my father's vehicle in for service on 2/19/2018 - they kept the car for 2 days. $2600 in repairs. Paid up - no worries or complaints there - my issue is that either their repair personnel or detailers stole all of the change from the center console of the car (like $30 worth of change) and a necklace from the rearview mirror that my mom brought back with her from Israel. When we asked the service manager about it, he couldn't be less interested - said "well I guess you'll just have to file a police report because I can't help you, one of my guys says he saw the items, but didn't touch it and another one said he never saw anything. After we paid up in full this is how your treat your customers? How horrible! Manager just shrugged it off and said he'd give it to his boss to look at because he didn't know what else to do. Shame on you Sands! WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH YOU AGAIN! Guess you don't care about long time customers? (we've been a customer for 8 years!)

I took my daughters Tahoe in for an oil change. As I was waiting for the oil change the service consultant, Juan Martinez, approached me and said that the bolt and the thread that is attatched to the oil pan came apart. He said the cost to fix it would be $625. I told him that when I brought in the tahoe it was in proper condition with no oil leaks. I told him to my knowledge that this can only happen when it’s tightened to tight or twerked the wrong way. Juan M stated that the car was old and that the pan that are now made are done with aluminum, and I responded to him that over all my years I’ve had many cars and have never had this kind of issue. He concluded that there is nothing he can do. So I had to get the Tahoe towed to my house. When the Tahoe was brought over to my house the next day it was delivered with a flat tire. I asked the tow truck man if it was like that when he picked it up and he responded yes. I called Juan M and asked him if he was going to fix the Tahoe and he responded by saying no because they did not do anything wrong. He then asked me if I wanted to speak to the service manager and I responded by saying no and that you should speak to the service manager to relay the problem, and he answered with the statement of saying he would and to call him on 1/4/18 at 8:00am for an answer. So now my daughter is without a car to go to work.

Sands Chevrolet Response • Jan 19, 2018

Customer will be in on Monday 1/22/18 to have oil pan replaced for parts price plus tax only. We will repair tire at no charge as well. Customer is satisfied with the resolution. The vehicle has over 200,000 miles on it and the oil pan threads were simply worn out from mileage not from damage. One time goodwill gesture of free labor on oil pan, cost on oil pan parts, and free tire repair.

I had an appointment to verify my GUARANTEED 2 PRIZES from a mailing that I just received. The mailing stated that "Everyone who participates will receive a minimum $5 Target gift card." The two $1 Arizona Lottery cards would have been, I thought, my second prize. After telling Alan, the sales representative, that I was not interested in buying a car, he checked with his boss and brought back a coupon for a vacation which involved paying fees on my part. He said they didn't have any of the prizes listed on the mailing I asked how this was possible since no one told me when I made the appointment. The mailing was very specific about the odds of winning any of the prizes. I would never do business with this company in the future.

Lied to at every turn, literally! When I tried to alert the sales manager in the "tower" area he did not even raise his head! LOL! Please see all NEGATIVE reviews here and on YELP!
If you shop here after reading, it's on you.

Last December 31st 2016, I went to Sands and was greeted by Jon Shoop. I went for a test drive in a car and on the way back spotted a 2014 Chevy Impala - price was $!11k and change. They tacked on $2600.00 to this sale and said it was to be for looking like I put more down. I feel this is dishonest and would like something done. I bought the car as I was in need of one for my job -it came to over 13K. I wanted to speak to the boss and they just ignored me still to this day. I am not happy about being ignored and would like this monies removed. Also they promised to clean the ink stains off of inside of car and this never was done. I am very disappointed. Ms. purchased the Chevrolet Impala LTZ and signed final contract on 12/31/2016. At that time, the purchase price was $14,875.00. Her trade allowance on the 03 Kia Sedona was $3,363.00, even though the vehicle was not in running condition and had to be towed in (it was definitely going to salvage). There was over a $3,000.00 overallowance on her trade, which was explained to her at the time of purchase.

Mr. Shoop has been in contact twice with Ms., once in regards to detailing the car for her and a second time to go over the details of the transaction.

Attached are the documents as agreed to and signed by Ms. and Sands. We have made every effort to satisfy Ms..

Sincerely,

Jerry M

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.
