On *-*0-20, I contacted Arturo J, Sr. Regional Mgr for Sandpiper Hospitality, in an attempt to resolve an issue with my hotel rate at a facility they manage. I was told the prior Sunday a request would be submitted to reduce my daily rate to the current rate being offered. However, I was not given the rate that was listed & was told I would need to check out and then begin a new reservation to receive the lower rate and pay daily sales taxes even though I had already stayed for over 30 days and wasn't subject to those taxes. I spoke with Mr. J that afternoon and told him the hotel could not charge taxes to place a financial obstacle to prevent customers from receiving a lower rate the hotel was offering. Mr. J was not interested working with me, even though we were only talking about $*/day difference. I then explained to Mr. J I had not had a full clean done on the room (lack of house keeping staff); the hotel has no working vacuums that don't spray dirt when turned on; I have had to do the maintenance in the room because the maintenance man quit and no replacement has been hired. I was left with the impression that Mr. J was aware of the issues and wasn't concerned about them. I told him I wanted to find a resolution so I didn't have to contact the Revdex.com. Unfortunately, Mr. J didn't seem concerned whether a Revdex.com complaint was filed or not. It was quite disappointing.
As a company we have tried to do everything we can to help the consumer, she was given a discounted rate and she was unhappy with that. She wants a rate that was promoted online for new customers not existing customers, if she would like the new rate then she can check out of the room and check in again but she would have to pay taxes again.
