I was told that I would receive a complimentary night because the room we were placed in was not cleaned at all for our stay.
We checked into the Welcome center on August 2nd, 2019 around 4. The room we requested did not have double beds. The guy named Alex at the welcome center told me that he could put us in a condo with a let out bed for no additional charge. HE said the room was not ready and he would put in a request to have it cleaned and they will call us when the room was ready. We came back to the room at 10:00 p.m. that night and the room they placed us in was never cleaned. I went down to the front desk and talked to a girl there and she told me that they were going to put us in a clean room just like the other. She also gave me some free drink vouchers, but I don't even drink so that didn't help me at all for the inconvenience that they had caused me. When we got to the room it was completely different. It was no longer a condo but a regular room with a let out bed. There were not sheets for the let out bed. I got up the next morning and went back to the front desk and talked to Victoria and Paoblo. I told Victoria what happened and she told me that they would give me a complimentary night and that I wouldn't have to pay anything because I already paid half. I asked her several times was there anything else I needed to do and she told me no. She said that the price was taken care of and that I didn't need to pay anything. When I checked my account on August 5th, 2019. They charged me for both nights and I also received an overdraft fee. I tried contacting the manager there at the hotel and was placed on hold for over an hour. No one ever came back to the phone and I could never contact a manager. I have tried several different numbers and no one has contacted me about refunding my money. I am completely furious about the poor customer service that this hotel has displayed. Victoria gave me a receipt of the credit that I was supposed to receive.
I would like a refund to my account of $283.05. I would also like a refund of the $28 fee that my bank has accessed me as well, because if I should have been charged she should have told me that when I checked out and I could have given her what she needed in cash.
Guest stayed 8/2-8/4. Due to some challenges she was given a one night credit & credit of resort fees as promised by FD mgr for a total of $283.05.Credits were given on 8/3 & 8/4. The credit can take 5-10 business days to show up depending on financial institution. Guest paid for only one ngt and was given a copy of the folio upon departure with an explanation. Guest pd for one the ngt 7/5 like all other guest.
Resort do not issue refunds due to cancellations for tropical storm Albert
Resort booked for May 26th to May 30th. Deposit of $538.20 completed.
Called resort on Friday 25th to cancel trip due to the storm. Resort said they have a very strict cancellation policy. They didn't want to issue a refund or resort credit. Told us the storm was not a big deal. Next day we called SanDestin Resort said they giving a resort credit but that we have until 9 PM to make a decision on when we will be going.
We called several times and left several voice mails but nobody called us back.
I sent an email letting them know that we were calling about our reservation and that nobody was answering and that we were looking at going on June 16th.
We felt pressure to make a decision so we do not lose the resort credit. The agent email me back with a total for the new days, nobody called me to discuss rates and the worse part is that We just said we were looking at ...we didn't say, please book those days.
Calling the resort once again on Tuesday the 29th, a rude customer service representative talking over me at all time, said they were not issuing any refund.
Few issues here:
No refunds even due to a tropical storm ( we were going from Houston To Destin)
Booked a room wirhout discussing rates
Very poor customer service
We would like to receive a full refund for our deposit of $538.20.
As anybody would understand, who really wants to stay in a resort who does not consider customers.

Each confirmation provides our cancellation policy that includes 7 days prior to arrival a full refund of deposit will be given. Cancelling within 7 days there will be a forfeiture of deposit. This guest called the day before arrival and wanted to cancel with a full refund of deposit. While there was expected weather in the area it was business as usual at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. We take our guest safety very seriously and monitor the weather constantly.We offered to re schedule this stay with no lose of deposit for the guest.
