Ralph, there are local owned professional carpet cleaners in San Diego that price honestly and transparently. In fact include everything that others add up and charge extra for once in your home. We charge $189 for 3 rooms/hall. No interest in trying to bait you with a low price. Besides everything it takes to get it clean we provide a Fast Dry Service and up to 2 minor carpet repairs. Just be glad you didn't get left with the Lye residue of sodium hydroxide.
