In response to the description of mulch on our website Mulch is described as "Mulch is a natural bi-product of our tree serviceIt is the result of tree and shrub pruning being ran through a brush chipping machine." Mulch does contain leaf matter because trees and shrubs have leaves, such is the definition of mulch " a material (such as decaying leaves, bark, or compost) spread around or over a plant to enrich or insulate the soil"I personally spoke to *** and mentioned more than once that I had a half load, regardless she requested 2-full loads per the previously attached mulch request form she filled out and sent to usWe do not deliver mulch for free based on persons need, it's up to the person to determine if what we have to offer for free is acceptable for what they needOtherwise we would have to drive to the persons house, meet with them measure what they need, and deliver just that amountRemember we offer this for free. This would make it impossible for us to provide it for freeDelivering free mulch is a win win for both parties, as mentioned previously the person receiving the mulch does not have to pay for the mulch, delivery, or pick it up and we do not pay dump fees and often save fuel by dumping near our jobs (which is also good for the environment)We have many people around the county that are very grateful and thankful for this free service. Again very sorry *** did not get what she wanted, but it seems to me that she did not do her homework and would like us to take responsibility for her mistake
San Diego Tree Care is deeply sorry that [redacted] did not get the quantity and quality of mulch she was expecting. We do our best to make the "Free Mulch" clear by describing what our mulch consists of and what to expect for quantity along with photos illustrating what the mulch looks...
like. [redacted] went to our website and requested a free mulch delivery from this page which is attached. We always call prior to delivery to confirm the person still wants the mulch. I called and spoke to [redacted] and she confirmed she wanted it, I explained we only had 1/2 load which would be equal to approximately a 10'x10' pile of mulch (She requested 2-3 loads which would be 40-60 cubic yards or approximately 10'x40-60' which his shown in her mulch delivery request). Upon arrival at [redacted]'s house she and I discussed where to dump the mulch. I explained that most people have us dump in the driveway, but its easiest to spread the closer it is to where you want it spread. We discussed that her lawn was in bad shape and dry and I explained that I could dump near where she wanted it spread, but that it would spill on the lawn and need to be spread soon after. She agreed and watched us dump the truck we said our good byes and have a nice day with no complaint from [redacted]. We dumped the truck at approximately noon, I received a call from [redacted] approximately 8:00 pm saying how unhappy she was with the mulch quality and quantity and that we needed to come and get it. I explained to her that it was 1/2 of what we normally deliver and nearly identical to what is shown on our website and that all deliveries are final as written in bold letters in the mulch requirements. I explained to her the only way to reload the truck is by hand. We have bought so many people "Free Mulch" around the county with many happy and thankful people, thankful they do not have to pay for the mulch, delivery, or take there time to go and pick it up somewhere. We are very sorry [redacted] did not get what she wanted, this is our first complaint in a decade of delivering "Free Mulch" around the county.
Have used San Diego Tree Care several times over past 5 years. Excellent professional work on our large ornamental pear, a eucalyptus tree and several pepper trees. Highly recommended.

Diego Tree Care do not describe what their mulch consists of on their website. The owner did not tell me that he had 1/2 load when he called me to deliver the mulch. When he arrived I showed him how big the area that I need to cover with mulch and told him that is how much I needed. He could've dumped only as much as I requested or he could've said I have 1/2 load and I would've said no thank you that's too much.
I did not watch them dump the mulch. I closed my door because it was so dusty while dumping the mulch and did not see how much they dumped on my lawn until later. I told them to dump the mulch on a very small area in the corner of my lawn where the grass was dead. They went and dumped it way beyond the area where I told them about and went half way on my lawn. My lawn is not in a bad shape, it was only a small area in the corner that had dead grass.
You make it sound like you're doing people a favor by delivering "Free Mulch". First of all you're doing it to save yourself money by not paying to dump it at the yard wast dump. Second, your mulch is the worst mulch, it consist of 80% leaves which you do not mention on your website or tell people on the phone before you deliver. Third, you did not hear complaints from people because there is no contract which means no case.I
had to hire a company to hall away your trash from my yard. You need to
be more honest and take responsibility for what you did.
