Review: I’ve never in my life filed a complaint through the Revdex.com, but in this case I feel that something more needs to be done.On the morning of August 14th, my girlfriend, [redacted], took my car (a 2006 Honda Accord) to San Diego Tire and Wheel outlet for the installation of four new tires. I was at work in La Jolla, so it was easier to have her bring the car in for me. After the tires had been installed, [redacted] was told that in order to pay with my credit card, I would need to fill out a credit card authorization form. This part was understandable. What followed, however, was nearly an hour of inappropriate joking, stalling, yelling and humiliating a young girl who was just trying to pay for a service. She left the store in tears, at which point she called me on the phone and told me what happened. A quick summary of events: The Tire and Wheel Outlet staff first tried to fax me the credit card authorization form; when that didn’t work, they tried to email it. Somehow, this process took them over 30 minutes. During that time, while [redacted] was standing in the lobby waiting for the process to be resolved, the staff behind the counter (3-4 men) continuously harassed and joked at [redacted]’s expense in Spanish, likely not realizing that she understood enough of the language through prior education to comprehend the main points of the conversation. After all of this, the store manager, [redacted], approached [redacted] before she left, raising his voice and yelling at her that she had no reason to be upset and that the store and staff had not done anything left. After he admonished her for no reason, she took the keys and left in tears.Desired Settlement: An apology would be nice, but that certainly won’t change the staff behavior. To me this type of behavior is not indicative of a random occurrence, but rather of a culture of tolerance for inappropriate displays by the employees of Tire and Wheel Outlet. I believe, at the very least, an apology to Kim and myself is warranted, along with financial compensation (I paid $421 to this company in exchange for them installing four tires and humiliating my girlfriend). Beyond that, something needs to change so that this type of behavior is not accepted moving forward. The staff needs to be held accountable.
