I can't say enough good things about Troy and his team! Troy did the most thorough inspection of all the roofers that I got quotes from. And even though the scope of work that Troy recommended was more than the other roofers, his quote still came in at a similar or lower cost. Troy seemed much more knowledgable than other roofers about the work that was needed and the materials that could be used. His presentation of the quote was very professional and thorough with samples, drawings, and a model of the ridge vent. A few days later, he brought me full-size shingles of the four colors that I was considering and he recommended putting them on the roof for a few days so I could see what they looked like in different light throughout the day. How amazing is that?
I have a complex roof with many, many issues making it a difficult re-roof yet Troy wasn't afraid to tackle it. (Another company didn't bother to call back after the inspection where I was told, "This looks like a really hard job."). During the project, SDCR uncovered some shoddy construction work from a past remodel and they corrected the work at minimal cost. The crew was fast, efficient, friendly and always ready and willing to fill me in on their progress.
Troy and his team went above and beyond on several aspects of the project. I'm a very picky person and Troy never once seemed troubled by that. He listened, offered solutions and even took on extra little jobs to make his customer happy.
After the project, Troy and I went on the roof where he walked me through all the work. His attention to detail was excellent. He made sure that all the vents were painted to match and he returned several times to sweep for nails and collect other debris that might have been overlooked. There was one small mistake with a skylight and he was back the next day to fix it. It's perfect now. The whole roof is perfect. I've received lots of compliments from my neighbors, too.
During the project, I got to know Troy a bit as we'd spend some time chatting about our lives. In a world where eye contact and hello's are rare between strangers, Troy shows a genuine interest in people. He's definitely one of the good guys. It's pretty cool to finish a big roofing project with a beautiful roof, a great roofing contact for all future projects, and a new friend. I feel very fortunate!
