Review: On 9/1 my husband and I purchased a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta at SA auto finder. The car salesman named [redacted] handled the paperwork and just told myself(co-signer) and my husband(buyer) where to sign and did not properly inform us that we were not able to return the car for any reason. He did not explain any of the papers that he asked us to sign even when we asked a question he was very vague in response. The car salesman (Wally) told us that he was only suppose to work till 2 or 3pm( it was already 5pm) and that he had a labor day bbq to attend. As a result he rushed through the loan agreement and did not even give us a copy of the contract. After completing the contract he informed us that we were not able to take the car until we had insurance, so we left the car at the dealership.
The next day my husband purchased insurance and picked up the car, they still did not give him a copy of the contract.
On 9/03 I called the dealer and spoke to a person in the financing department and told him that I would like to return the car. He said that I was not able to return the car, so I went to the dealer and spoke to him in person. He was extremely uncooperative and said that he is 100% sure that [redacted] went through the whole loan agreement even when he was not there with. I told him that the 18.99% APR was way too high. He informed me that in the state of CA there is no "cooling off period" and that I cannot return the car. When I asked about the contract cancellation option(which I had read about online), he handed me my copy of the agreement, that I unknowingly signed. When I asked why I never received a copy he replied that I left it on the desk, which is a blatant lie. He went on to say that I should have read the contract properly before signing it and made no attemt to resolve the issue. He said that this is not the same as a clothing store where you can return an item if you no longer wanted it and I was just suffering from buyers remorseDesired Settlement: I would like to return the car

Review: I purchased a car for my daughter from San Diego Auto Finder on 1/4/14. To complete the transaction, my daughter and I were given numerous papers to sign by the salesperson, [redacted]. When we got home, I realized that we had been charged $395.00 for something called "Prevent-a-Theft Etch", which was never mentioned to us while we were going over the paperwork. At that time, I thought it was too late to do anything about it, and I should have been more careful. However, when I checked the "Prevent-a-Theft" web site, I read that the "Prevent-a-Theft Etch" consists of a code number that is supposed to be etched into ALL of your car's windows as a theft deterrent. I found out from my daughter that only the driver's window and front passenger window are etched. When I called the "Prevent-a-Theft" company, I found out that their product is 100% refundable within 60 days of purchase, and I was advised to call the auto dealer to request the refund.
I called San Diego Auto Finder on 1/18, was told to call back on 1/20. I called back on 1/20 and spoke to [redacted], who did issue me a check for $395. The problem with that is that I was charged tax on the $395 purchase, but the tax was not refunded. I have called several times since then and I am always told that the person I need to talk to is not in. I have also gone to their web site and used the "Contact Us" option to send them a message. This should be a very simple request with a very simple solution, unless they are deliberately keeping the money.Desired Settlement: These people owe me a mere $31.60. I can't believe they are being such jerks about it. What I really wish is that you could get them to stop selling this "Prevent-a-Theft Etch", which is of dubious value and is not a legitimate anti-theft device.

Response:
We apologize for any miscommunication between customer and our business office.
San Diego Auto Finder refunded the monies for the anti theft product per the customers request. Most after market products such as warranties and insurances are not taxed, this is the reason for the mis understanding and we apologize for our accounting mistake. San Diego Auto Finder is issuing a check to this customer for the taxed portion to be refunded right away. This customer did indeed call and ask for this to be refunded, the request was submitted to our accounting department and has been taken care of as fast as possible.
as of today: 02/03/14 the check has been written and is out for postage servicing.
Review: WHEN I PURCHASE A CAR THEY SOLD ME AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR 5 YEARS TO MY MERCEDEZ C280 FOR A TOTAL OF $1500 DOLLARS. THEY TOLD ME THIS IS THE BEST WARRANTY COMPANY THAT THEY DEALT WITH FOR YEARS, SO I PURCHASED IT, 8 MONTHS PASSED WHEN I WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP TO CHECK COVERAGE AND WARRANTY, THE COMPANY "THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE IN BUSINESS FOR "25 YEARS" IS A BOGUS COMPANY. THE COMPANY IS NON EXISTENT AND WHEN I CALLED KEN JORGESON, AND ASK FOR HIS ASSISTANCE, HE SAID HE WOULD CALL BACK AND NEVER DID. THEY SOLD THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, MADE THEIR COMMISSION AND I AM THE ONE WHOS OUT OF $1500 DOLLARS. I HAVE A CONTRACT WARRANTY THAT IS USELESS. THEY ARE CLAIMING NOW THAT THEY GOT VICTIMIZED TO OF THE SAID COMPANY - HOW? WHEN THEY SOLD THE WARRANTY AND MADE COMMISSION OR IF THE COMPANY EVEN EXISTED AND THEY POCKETED THE MONEY, WHILE I AM THE ONE WHO HAS THE USELESS PIECE OF PAPER AND OUT OF $1500!Desired Settlement: REFUND ALL MY MONEY BACK SINCE THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE SELLING A USELESS WARRANTIES AND THE COMPANY IS NON EXISTENT. IVE BEEN SCAM. THEY ARE FULLY RESPONSIBLE. AND PLEASE DONT SAY THAT YOU GUYS ARE VICTIMIZED TOO, BECAUSE NOTHING GOT LOST FROM YOU GUYS, I AM THE ONE THAT LOST $1500. IF THIS DOESNT GET RESOLVED, I WILL SEE YOU IN COURT.

The customer has 2 products that were included in their purchased, one was an anti theft insurance product for $395.00 the other was an extended warranty purchased for $1,095.00.
The Anti theft insurance product was a non-refundable product after a certain time frame after the purchase date. This time frame was expired at the time of this customers request.
The aftermarket vehicle warranty which was purchased for $1,095.00 was through a company that apparently went out of business. we referred this customer to the State of CA insurance department who we were in contact with concerning this company.

Regards,
The reason why I am disputing this, is NO ONE from this business contacted me, I've called them 6 times and that story about the insurance went out of business came out when I will be making a complaint to the Revdex.com.
They guarantee this insurance company is in business for 25 years already when the insurance warranty that they sold is not even a year in business. They have a bogus number and when I called the state office, they never even know about this matter and that person Sarah is not even an employer there. They need to stand on something that they SOLD. They made their money with the commission.
And the theft insurance? What is there to even claimed when the insurance company is out of business. Sorry this is just not acceptable. Sold a junk warranty and basically I am the one who has to suffer with their poor choice and they made commission out of it.
Review: Fraud and misrepresentation of the vehicle purchased.
We bought a 2011 Hyundai Sonata on 8/17/2013 from San Diego Auto Finders for $16,500.00 . San Diego Auto Finders withheld information and lied about the car that they sold me. They told me that the car was in perfect condition and had no issues; furthermore, it was in such great condition that it was practically new. I have had nothing but problems with this car from the first week that I had purchased it. After I started having problems with the car the [redacted] dealer replaced the joint kit-front axel differential (LH). I shared this with San Diego Auto Finders. They then admitted that they had the joint kit-front axel differential (RH) replaced. I was really upset to find out that they withheld the fact that in the time that they owned the car they had replaced the joint kit-front axel differential (RH), which to me suggests that it has been in a car accident. If I had known this information prior to the purchase of the car I would have never purchased it the car.
Since I have owned the car it has been in the shop at the [redacted] dealer over 10 times: furthermore, two of those times they had my car for over a week, and the rest of those times 1-3 days at a time. Since it has been in my possession I have had nothing but major issues with it. The front end was making crunching sounds when I make turns and front end would shake badly. I took it in to the shop several times to resolve the issues, so that they could pin point the problems. They have replaced the clock spring which is for the air bag, isolator strut assembly on both sides, bearing strut on both side ,pad-fr spring upper on both sides, joint kit-front axel differential (LH), strut towers; as well as re- torque engine mounts, re-torque sub frame bolts, rand e-torque axel nuts, replaced front brakes and rotors resurfaced, re and torque at lower control arms.
When I bought the car I had asked them when was the last time the oil was changes, just so I know when I need to change the oil.
They (San Diego Auto Finders) told me that they had just changed the oil and I could go the full 3,000 miles. After I left the dealership I pulled over and set the travel odometer so that I could keep track of when to change the oil. When I took my car in to change the oil at [redacted] shop manager scolded me, telling me I needed to change my oil more often than every 10,000; furthermore, he said my oil was so thick it was sludgy mud like. He said that it seems that the car has never had its oil changed, it was so bad.
Right after, I went back to San Diego Auto Finders and talked to them about what I had just found out about the car. They insisted that it was not true and they had the oil changed before I bought it. They said that they would be willing to work with me whether they give me an extended warranty or different car, then they took the car in to their possession.
They had it checked out at the Hyundai dealership in [redacted]. Hyundai in [redacted] did a full multi-point inspection and did not find anything. San Diego Auto Finders said that they drove my car over 100 miles per hour and did not have and problems with the shaking and could not duplicate the problems.
Immediately after I left the dealership with my car I got on the freeway. The car started shaking really bad, it was raining and I was scared. I pulled over and called my Dad and asked Him what he thought that I should do. My Dad talked with me for a while till the rain calmed down. My Dad said that I should go home and we will take care of it later. When I was driving through the parking lot of my complex going less than 10 miles per hour, a car pulled out of a parking spot right in front of me. I honked the horn and put on the brakes, my car skid out and I glided across the pavement. I barely missed the other car. My car stayed parked until I could get it in to the shop about 5 days later that is when [redacted] found other things that were broken on the car and replaced them which was the tensioner assembly, pulley dampener, and compressor assembly.
That is also when they did the brakes and rotors ($220.29). After the told my Dad that they would give us an extended warranty on the car, which they never fallowed through with and never happened.
The car still shakes so I brought the car back in we were able to experience some small shaking which they accounted to the tires, and suggested new tires would help. The tires were not the appropriate tires for the car, they are the wrong size; as well as, being warn and feathered. We could not reproduce the full the front end shaking that I have been experiencing. The cost for new tires is $684.46, which we have not purchased yet at this time.
Furthermore; to this point the tires have been in the shop to be rotated, and have been balanced three times.
[redacted] said that the bumper was repainted and there was over spray under the car which would suggest that the car had been in an accident, but they do not know the extent of how minimal or major the damage was. I called all the body shops in [redacted] around where the previous owner lives. [redacted] said that the previous owner did have a car in there body shop, but that was all that they could or would be willing to confirm.Desired Settlement: We would like to get a full refund back on all and any money we had to put in to this car (including the car mats $80.00, that I didn’t find out the car did not come with until after the purchase of the car)and the $220.29 for rotor resurfacing and brake job. This car has been completely unreliable and has prevented me from being able to find work, go to the grocery store, and many other things I needed to be able to get done in my life. This car has been a nightmare and has completely interfered and disrupted my life and my daily duties regularly. I would like to be able to get a full refund so I can purchase a new and reliable car, and lets just part company friends.

Response:
The vehicle in question was/is under full manufacturer warranty. All repairs are being taken care of by the Hyundai franchise dealer per their warranty guidelines.
When this customer complained to us about the vehicle they purchased, in good will and customer service we offered to help them by taking it to the Hyundai franchise dealer
for them, to be as helpful as we could with their concerns about the 2011 Hyundai sonata. The vehicle had no visible damage when purchased by San Diego Auto Finder and
if the bumper were touched up or repainted in the past we were not aware of that situation. All warranty issues and mechanical breakdown or repair are between the client and
the Hyundai franchise. We have tried to help this client in any way possible but have come to an impasse and have closed communication.
The customer should follow up with Hyundai for further communication regarding this vehicle warranty and repairs.

San Diego Auto Finders, Was only helpful in the beginning, when it required them to takes some action that Is when they start insulting you. The sold a car under false pretenses, Period. This car was not in "perfect condition, practically new" as they claimed. and "that nothing was wrong with it" They id not disclose to me that the car had an axle replace while in there possession, they also lied about changing the oil. If I would have know this prior to purchasing the vehicle I would have never purchased the vehicle. Let alone all of the problem that I have incurred, since I have had the vehicle starting with the first week. They did not sell the car with full disclosure and falsified the condition of the car.

Response:
San Diego Auto Finder does not sell new vehicles, our company only sells pre-owned vehicles. There is no claim as to any of our vehicles being new.
If a vehicle is within a few years of its production date/original sale date we can see why a consumer will expect "practically new or like new but in general these are descriptive and ambiguous terms. We make no claim to sell new vehicles.
The vehicle in question purchased from us was under full manufacturer warranty. With that being said there is no claim by San Diego Auto Finder as to warranty the vehicle. In fact, all vehicles sold by San Diego Auto Finder are sold AS IS with no warranty implied. There are multiple forms/paperwork our clients sign that state our vehicles are purely sold as is.
