On July 31, 2015 my car failed to start on it's own at the local car wash. After receiving a jump, I drove to this car shop as my regular mechanic is 16 miles north and I didn't want to take a chance in Friday afternoon traffic. After a "battery test", I was told by San Carlos Auto Center that my battery was good and that I needed a replacement alternator. The quote was for $ 658.34 with parts and labor. I was told that it would not be a good idea to drive it as the alternator failure could cause the car to stop while driving it. Being that my car is a 2012 model and that seemed a bit too soon for an alternator failure I drove to my honest mechanic the next morning and he replaced my bad battery with a new one for approximately $ 100. The car has been fine ever since.
