Review: my car was towed into shop Sat night Sept. [redacted]. Mechanic looked at car Mon. morning and I was told by the manager - [redacted] that repairs would cost between 360-380 dollars parts and labor. I gave authorization for work to be done. Part was to have come in Tues. morning overnight but actually did not come in until Tues. Spoke to [redacted] on two different occasions Tues. morning to make sure part came in and then again the urgency of repair,because my wife was upstate alone and needed to get back to Brooklyn. Repair was done and [redacted] leaves me a message that car is ready and amount is 687.86 I called him to find out how price went from 380 to 687 and was told part was more and labor was more. I told him that I was entitled to that info before repair was done especially since I had spoken to him twice that morning and was not told about additional charges. I said that was highway robbery and wanted to speak to the owner.He then told me the car was ready for pickup and would be cash only. I explained that my wife did not have that kind of cash upstate and he told me on Monday that I could use my business credit card.He said to bad and hung up on me. My wife had to go borrow the cash to get the car out to drive back home to brooklyn.Desired Settlement: refund of difference between price quoted and amount paid. 307.86
