Review: I contracted with SLS Landscaping to fix a drainage issue at my parents' house; water was collecting on both sides of the property due to excess pooling from gutters and downspouts, and also due to the property grading. SLS gave an estimate for irrigation after the owner,[redacted], inspected the property. [redacted] recommended addtitional downspouts connected to schedule 20 PVC pipe, a catch basin with a grate, and two popups, one on either side of the yard.[redacted] personally inspected the property and my son-in-law (active military with little time for home repair) pointed out the problem areas. One side of the property literally has a trench filled with water and[redacted] told him it would be gone. That water is a breeding ground for mosquitoes and our 2-year-old granddaughter can't even play in the back yard due to all the mosquitoes - major health hazard.The crew came out, dug the trenches by hand, no trench digger, and left. Every time it rains, the pop ups fly off and land in the yard. They are not fastened into the PVC elbows like they should be. Plus, the grate sits lower than the pipe, so how can the pipe possibly carry out all the water? The grate is at least 15 feet away from the problem area in the back yard, so it's useless as far as solving the largest issue we needed to solve. I had to call[redacted] three times before he returned my calls; when he called he said he had been out to inspect the problem and he put tape in the popups to keep them in place. He used what looks like masking tape, and only on one side. Needless to say, the tape is useless and open popups are an invitation to rodents and vermin.We have had another contractor out to examine the work that was done, and in his opinion the job was handled incorrectly. Judging by the lake in the back yard, I agree with him. I don't think SLS was capable of addressing our irrigation issue and shouldn't have taken the job. Once they did and got our payment, [redacted] stopped responding to calls and evidently cannot or will not fix it.Desired Settlement: I don't believe that SLS is able to correct the problem we are experiencing, and [redacted] only remedy is for us to clear dirt away from a fence and relocate it to the trench is ridiculous. He does not respond to calls in a timely manner and I have no confidence in his company's ability to correct their mistake. This was a terrible, butchered job and I have no desire to continue to do business with SLS Landscaping. I am now forced to pay another company to fix his mess.
