I was waiting for the mailed complaint. here is my response.In response to the complaint to the said customer. I did not cancel their lessons, [redacted] called and Texted me that they would no longer be taking horseback riding lessons from me! I explained that they had two lessons left...

and I do not give refunds I never heard back from them.I never canceled the lessons, I left there lesson spot open for them. The contract states NO RETURNS for lessons, which the customer did sign.

There are several problems with the response from S&J Ranch.  First, the "contract" she attached was a liability contract protecting her from me suing if someone was hurt from participating in horseback riding.  Second, that "contract" did not have "no refunds" hand written on it when I signed it.  Unfortunately I do not have a copy as it was a standard liability contract and had nothing to do with any payments and I did not ask for a copy.  However as neither of us initialed next to the handwritten addition I have a feeling it isn't legally binding.  I have attached 2 screen shots from my phone showing the text string from March 23, 2018.  The first is between Stacey (the owner of S&J Ranch) at 3:06.  She askes to reschedule a makeup lesson.  I was in a training so I asked my husband to contact her as he wanted to attend the lesson.  (Stacey's comments are in the grey bubbles and mine are the green). You can see that at 3:22 pm she says she doesn't meet his standards and will refund my last 2 lessons.  We took that to mean that if she is refunding us lessons she didn't want us to come back.  The second attachment are texts between Rex, Stacey, and I which started from Rex on March 23, 2018 at 4:49; more than an hour after Stacey offered to refund our money. I still feel that we are owed the refund she offered. Thank you, [redacted]
