Review: My Husband and I were moving into our new home and there was a Maytag Refrigerator there that was a couple of years old and never used. We were working on our home and the fridge stopped. We Googled some numbers in the area for repair men. We had Sameday [redacted] come to our house. He told us we needed to replace the relay switch, repair lines, and add gas. He gave us a 90 day guarantee. We paid him $275.00 for this service. On September [redacted] the fridge stops working again. This was after I purchased close to $200.00 worth of food. Needless to say the food went in the pail.We tried calling Sameday [redacted] but the said they couldn't get to us until a week later so we called [redacted]'s [redacted]'s [redacted] came to our house and said we needed a new relay switch and possibly a new control board. He ordered the parts and wouldn't be able to tell us for sure what the issue was until he took the fridge apart when the parts came in. We gave him an $80.00 deposit to order the parts. He then came back on 9/**/14 only to give us more bad news. He said, the compressor shorted to the ground due to the wrong relay switch that was previously installed by Sameday [redacted]. He also said that Sameday [redacted] did not add gas to the fridge because there is no tap valve to do so. The valve would have to be installed for gas to be added and which it wasn't.He now said, it would cost $700 for a new compressor. We both agreed it wasn't worth it to fix the fridge for that price so we gave him another $60.00 for coming out to our house. My husband kept calling Sameday appliance to tell them we were basically ripped off and that they broke our fridge. They kept saying they would send the original repair man out but the never did. We recently had to go buy a new fridge that cost $2,000.00. I believe the original repair guy saw us working on our house and took complete advantage of us. It's very sad that this is the world we live in.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for both repair men, the cost of the food I had to throw away. A total of $615.00. If I do not receive a refund by mail I will be taking this to small claims court for the cost of both repair men, the food, and the new fridge for a total of $2,615.00. I have pictures showing this was a new fridge never used. I have the wrong parts that were installed. I have both bills from both repair men, and I have a written statement from the 2nd repair man who will go to court with us.
