I purchased a bass from Walmart which was fulfilled by Sam Ash Direct. I tried to cancel the purchase just minutes after purchasing because Walmart charged the wrong card. There was nothing I could do and all attempts to contact the vendor went unanswered. When the bass was delivered I called Sam Ash for an RMA to return the item. I was told that I'd have to pay for shipping even though I had attempted to cancel the purchase and they shipped anyway. It cost me $80.50 to ship and I have still not received my refund. I've spent thousands at their stores over the years and will never do business with them again.

The purchase was made through Walmart, which processed the customer's payment and paid the sales tax on the transaction. We did receive only a portion of the payment. By Walmart's rules, we are unable to refund the payment directly to the customer, because the refund must be made through the Walmart system, in order to properly credit the card and manage the sales tax. Walmart is the retailer of record who received the full payment by the customer, not Sam Ash who only receives a portion of the payment.

Horrific customer service from Samash.com
On August 20, 2019 purchased a VN75 Begginners violin for $79.99 on Samash.com. Was to be delivered to the local location within 2 days on the 22nd. On the 22nd checked the shipping of the item and was not able to locate where it was through tracking. Contacted customer service concerning the item and wanted to know where it was and when it would be delivered. After being placed on hold for some minutes, representative came back and said it wouldn't be delivered for a few more days. It was the beginning of the school term and I needed it by that Friday. I cancelled the order with that same representative. Was told it would be returned once they received the item back on Friday. On true 28th called customer service again, having not received any refund yet. This representative said they hadn't received the item yet so the refund couldn't be processed. I expressed my dissatisfaction with this being that the shipping difficulties was not my doing and I should not be inconvenienced by that. Was told that the policy is the policy and nothing can be done until after they receive the violin back. Called back on September 3, and was told the item will be delivered on the 4th and then the return will be processed. Explained that this was not the same information I was given before and that the item should have been returned last week. Representative said that they are not sure why I wasn't returned then but that that was where things were now. I requested that my return be processed now since this is highly unusual and well past beyond bad customer service now. Was told policy prevents that and there was nothing they could do. Ask to speak with a supervisor; was told would receive a call back. Never received a call back. Called back on 9/6 and the return had still not been processed. Asked to speak with a supervisor; spoke with Felip and he said he would walk my refund over to the returns station himself. Was told it was done and would be deposited into my account within 24 to 48 hours. This was done on Friday after 1 pm so it's unlikely that it will be Refunded to me until earliest Tuesday more than likely Wednesday. That is if it is even returned then! I will never purchase anything ever again from Sam ***, either online or in store. There customer service is horrible and they have no sense of customer satisfaction at all

Desired Outcome

I should have gotten refunded after the call on the 28th but that was not what they were willing to do. Just want my refund and be done with this company.

We apologize for the delay in Mr. refund. He is absolutely correct that we should have done better. A full refund was issued to Mr. on September 6 and we are issuing him a $25 gift card to him for the inconvenience he suffered.

They advertise the MB115-II for $470.00 but not in stock. Customer service will not respond to me. Page 60 of their Spring 2019 catalog.
They advertise the Gallien-Krueger MB115-II for $470.00 but not in stock. Customer service will not respond to me. The item is on Page 60 of their Spring 2019 catalog. Have made several attempts to email sales and corporate customer service but nobody will respond. I think they made a mistake in their catalog and don't want to sell me the item for the advertised price. All other music stores sell this item for $599.00. I want to purchase this item immediately but nobody will help me at Sam Ash, I am being ignored completely. I believe I am entitled to pay the advertised price from their brand new catalog. I also purchased a brand new bass guitar in April that is defective and was told that a replacement would not arrive until SEPTEMBER. I would like this to be documented just in case I have another problem in September. I was already told that it would only be a few weeks, and then I was told it wouldn't be until September. I am okay with that as long as it really happens in September, but I really would like to purchase the Gallien-Krueger MB115-II for the advertised price of $470.00.

Desired Outcome

I want to purchase the advertised product for the advertised price, made in the USA for $470.00. If I continue to be ignored, I will go to the media.

We have sold 23 of the MB115-II for $469. There was no mistake in the pricing. Unfortunately, we have sold out of the product. We have had additional units on order from the manufacturer for several months.

We have disabled the ability to purchase the product from our website, because we can't fulfill additional orders at this time.

I am sorry if this does not satisfy the customer, but we are doing all we can to obtain additional stock. We will honor the price for this customer when we obtain stock.

I would be happy to look into the issue with the customer's bass guitar if he would send me more details including the order number.

I will not be satisfied until my bass guitar is replaced that is defective, order number XXXXXXXX. I have left a message with salesman "Jordan" from a Florida office. I have offered to buy the last remaining floor model for $469.00 if the company eats the tax. Otherwise I would wait until more come in. I'm waiting to hear back from him. I was told by Jeffrey C. that Sam Ash is no longer selling the MB115-II, but was told by corporate that they are on order, just one example of me being lied to, everything is documented. If you sell me this amp without tax and replace my bass guitar with a new one, my Revdex.com complaint will go away, providing the amp is in excellent(like new) condition when received. My experience with customer service has not been a good one, I have gotten several different stories and it seems nobody at Sam Ash is on the same page. I want this to end just like you do. Thanks for your consideration and time, working with me to resolve these issues.

The issue with the amplifier has been resolved, I had an extremely Pleasant conversation with Jordan, a Salesman in Florida. He sold me a floor model of the amplifier for $466 and the company ate the tax. The remaining issue is the bass guitar that needs replaced. Thank you for helping me to resolve one of the issues. I am assured the unit is in excellent condition and we gave the customer 36 months special financing. The price was discounted by the amount of the tax, so the price was $438, and with tax $466.48.

We confirmed with the manufacturer that the GK MB115-II ran into production issues and it will be some weeks before they can ship more.

We ordered a digital keyboard from Sam Ash. They changed delivery 5 times. We never got the keyboard. Now say we have to par restock and return fee
We ordered a keyboard from Sam Ash via Amazon's third party selling on March 24. Ir supposedly shipped the next day. We were given a delivery window of March 28-April 1.

It never arrived. After contacting them we were told to contact the shipping company *** freight. I was told someone would contact me and it would be delivered that day, but it wasn't. I contacted them the next day, and was told the same thing. Again, it didn't come.

I reached out to Amazon for assistance in dealing with Sam Ash. They assigned a new delivery date of April 8. It didn't come then either. I contacted them and was told it was passed to yet another carrier. They are called *** delivery. They didn't deliver it either.

I reached out after it didn't arrive again to *** freight. They claimed it got stuck behind additional freight on the truck. Sam Ash lied and said I refused the delivery. Now they claim that once, or if the package return to them, I will be responsible for a 15% restock fee and return shipping.

When I told them this hardly seemed fair, I was laughed at. So essentially SAM ASH took almost $1800 dollars from me for a piano they didn't deliver.

They used such poor quality freight companies the package was misplaced and the delivery was changed 5 times. Now they want me to pay several hundred dollars for THEIR mistake.

Desired Outcome

They took my money but refused to deliver the piano or return all of my money. I would like my money returned.

We apologize for the customer's bad experience. As shown on the attached bill of lading, the keyboard was shipped out promptly when ordered. This was a failure on the part of YRC Freight which we will take up with them.

The customer has already received a full refund through Amazon.com according to their records. Under Amazon's rules purchases made through Amazon must be refunded through Amazon and not by us directly.

I got a refund from Amazon after I informed them I reported both companies to the Revdex.com. Everything Scam Cash said during this ordeal was a lie.

Thankfully organizations like Revdex.com still exist to keep scammers like Scam Cash from ripping customers off.
