I live in Idaho and my kids were visiting my parents in Oregon. My daughter was in need of medical attention. My mom took her to Samaritan Urgent Care Walk-in Clinic on 2 different occasions while visiting. I received 4 different bills in the mail about a month later. Two were for the office visits and the other 2 were for the lab work that she had done. The total amount was over $1000. My insurance would not cover anything because it was considered out of network clinic visit, when in actuality it should have been billed as an urgent care visit. They advertise as an urgent care but only bill as a clinic. Due to this, my health insurance would not cover. The only way they would cover is if it was billed as an emergency room visit or urgent care. It took me 7 months and multiple calls to the health care office and my insurance as to why my insurance would not cover. Finally I got the correct answers and the office visits were adjusted down but now I am stuck with paying almost $500 in lab fees because apparently nothing can be done about those. I feel as though Samaritan Health is misleading patients with advertising as an urgent care yet will only bill as a clinic. I had no idea that one word could mean the difference between being charged over $700 to see a doctor and $70. What bothers me the most is that if I would not have been so persitent on getting answers they would have sent me to collections as soon as they could. I contacted them on multiple occasions to keep them informed that I was trying to get this figured out with my health insurance so that they would not send me to collections and in the end they were the ones trying to scam me out of my hard earned money. Something needs to be done. Who knows how many people have just went ahead and paid their bill or have been sent to collections because of Samaritans false billing.

RE: Revdex.com Case ***
Dear Ms. ***,
Regarding your request for review of your minor child's accounts: per our conversation on March 31, 2020,you stressed a concern that your insurance processed and paid her office visits and her laboratory claims asout-of-network.
Our Urgent Care/Walk-in Clinics are billed with a regular office visit location and not as an Urgent Carelocation due to our credentialing; because of this billing location, some insurances process the charges asout-of-network.
The office visit on 08/03/2019 totaling $332.00 processed applying $311.00 to your out-of-networkdeductible and the Office visit on 08/15/2019 totaling $312 processed applying $312.00 to your out-of network deductible.
The Laboratory charges rendered on 0 8/03/ 2019 totaling $233.00 processed applying $211.85 to your out of-network deductible. Laboratory charges rendered on 08/15/2020 totaling $278.00 processed applying$264.10 to your out-of-network deductible.
We have been diligently working with your insurance by submitting a reconsideration form on 10/14/2019to process the claims in-network with continued follow-up. On February 13, 2020, Aetna denied thereconsideration and up- held their original decision applying to your out-of- network deductible.
As a one-time courtesy, we adjusted the office visits down to what your co-pay would have been had theclaims processed in-network at S35.00 per visit ; the laboratory accounts were adjusted down to the in-networkdeductible balance that was remaining for August of 2019, which equaled $73.69.
Please be advised that if you receive services at one of our Urgent Care/Walk-in clinics in the future, your accountswill be processed as out- of-network and the balance will be correctly billed to you.
Please contact Elizabeth S at (541) 768-4668 Monday through Friday, if you should have furtherquestions or concerns.
Respectfully,
