Review: When we spoke to Mr.[redacted] over the phone the first time, he said the fee would be$400, with half being paid upon hire & the other half being paid after he had filed the 2013 return. When we met personally with Mr.[redacted] on February 14th, 2014, we provided him with our tax information from 2012 & 2013 and paid him $200 in cash money. Over the next two months we reached out multiple times to find out the progress on our returns as we had not heard from him. We couldn't get any kind of a response via text, email, or phone calls for weeks, until he sent a text informing us that his fee had increased to $450 and that he would need it all "now": he was "awaiting payment". We paid him the rest of the money and then the pattern continued. As it got closer to the April 15th deadline, we became more agitated and anxious, as we could not get in touch with him at all. He finally filed on April 9th. On April 14th, he told us we were getting $5,235 from Fed, and $2,013 from State. We then paid him another $600 to do our 2012 return. As it turned out, we received half of what he said we would from both Federal and State for our 2013 return. After more weeks of texting, emailing & calling, trying to get an explanation from him as to why this happened, we got zero response. It has been an absolute nightmare dealing with this man. When he does finally respond, the texts or emails are garbled and vague, making no sense and never answering any of our questions that we've asked over and over.We also had to payTurboTax fees of $68 on top of Mr. [redacted]'s increased fees.Had the whole experience not seemed so shady, we might not have had a problem with that, but we could never get an answer about that issue either. When we hired him, he told us that our fee was $400, period. Now we're waiting for him to file our 2012 return. For weeks he's said he was waiting for something from the IRS, now he's saying he needs 2nd copies of everything we've already sent him, which we don't have.We feel this will never end. Want it to be over.Desired Settlement: Unless he can produce a finished product by the end of this week, we want our $600 and all of our original paperwork returned.
