Review: I get treated terrible everytime I go there it's close to my house so I've put up with it for a year now last straw was December 27th I was completely out of my health sustaining medication [redacted] the normally rude pharmacist SHOCKED ME she gave me 3 days of medication to get me through. Monday came I got no prescription and was out of medication. I called Tuesday sick as a dog asking what was going on if I could get my script a girl put me on hold and a guy picked up and barked HELLO I told himi was on hold for a girl and he said well I'm the pharmacist so what! ? I never knew they had a boy pharmacist he could've said that when he answered he was really ignorant I was trying to explain what was going on to him and he kept yelling shhhhhhhh be quiet over top of me trying to talk. My prescription was for 60 He said insurance would only pay for 45. My doctor the insurance company everyone said he will charge the insurance company for 45 and I could self pay for the other 15. The rude pharmacist said he would not do that for me and made my doctor write me a new prescription for 45 shorting me 15 of my medication.I know he was lying because they have done it for someone right in front of me before even the insurance company said I shoulve had that option. I finally got my prescription Thursday morning January 1st I was supposed to get 45 strips but because they gave 6 on the 27th they only gave me 39! How can your own pharmacist short you 4 days Of HEALTH SUSTAINING MEDICATION when I already am 15 short? I'm tired of being stereotyped by these people did they not take a professional code of ethics before taking this job to treat everyone fairly and make sure people had the correct amount of medication? But I guess if you take a medication they look down upon then you get treated like garbage there and they could care less if you die without your meds. I know 2 other people taking the same medication and they treat them the same way they are ignorant and sterotypical.Desired Settlement: I want them to treat people with respect no matter what medication they take and I want the full amount of my prescription they did not back date the prescription to when they "helped"me with 6 they dated the prescription for 4 days later they know you cannot pick your prescription up that early how do they expect me to make it through a month when I'm already 15 short? ! Then they short me 6 more!

Response:
ID#[redacted]This response is in reference to a complaint that was received against Saltsburg Pharmacy. I am responding to the complaint to the extent that I am able to at this time.As Saltsburg Pharmacy is a medical provider; a pharmacy in particular, I feel the need to explain the HIPAA— The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. This act provides privacy standards to protect patients' private healthcare information and prevents a provider from releasing the information without the express consent of the patient. Saltsburg Pharmacy is not able to discuss a patient's history, prescription records, or physicians' orders with entities outside of a patient’s normal medical care.Generally speaking, our pharmacy is restricted by laws governing the actual practice of prescription dispensing. We are also limited by insurance carriers' requirements for specific drugs. We are sympathetic to our patients' frustrations with insurance carriers and health care providers. This is especially true when patients’ insurance carriers change. We try to be as accomodating as possible to our patients/customers when there are issues with patients’ medications and insurance companies up to and including providing an emergency supply of medication to patients until their insurance carrier and/or physician can address the problem. We are a small, hometown pharmacy with long ties to the Saltsburg area. We are proud of our customer service record and can be counted on to go the extra mile to help our customer s/patients. We treat our customers with respect and do not discriminate for any reason.Respectfully yours,[redacted] RPh
