[redacted] was billed $for an alignment she paid with check # ***When she came in to show us the documents she insulted our shop manager and insulting our staff indicating we were blindWe were happy to try to reach some sort of agreement and help her out but she continued to point her finder at my shop manager's face and at that point we had to politely ask her to leaveIf she could not talk to us civilly we would have to end the conversationWe later received some documents from her showing where she bought the shocks and struts and the paperwork did show dates but did not indicate who or what date the shocks were put on
Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The company has not looked at the documentation which I have sent by certified mail to both them and Revdex.com The documentation clearly shows the work that was performed (struts) by [redacted] on 7/and paid by check which also a copy was included The business has not addressed the issue in the complaint I still am seeking the same resolution Sincerely, [redacted]
10/11/2019 10:10am work order # *** I went in to get an alignment. *** said they would get it in right away. Ninety minutes later he said that the mechanic side the left outer tie rod was loose and needed to be replace. I side that I just replace the inner and outer tie rods just a few months ago. He side that the part was bad and it should be under warranty. I check the tie rods out when I got home and everything was fine.
Salem Tire Center, Inc wanted to me to pay them to replace a tie rod that was perfectly fine.
*** estimate:
Part: $22.90
Labor: $84.00
Alignment: $69.95
Upon inspecting the customer's vehicle during alignment, our trained alignment technician noticed a faulty tie rod end on the vehicle. Rather than proceed with the alignment, and charge the customer for a job that was half done, we informed him that there were loose parts on his vehicle. When the customer mentioned that the part was new, our salesman recommended that he try to get the part replaced under warranty where it was purchased (the part was not purchased through our shop), in order to save the customer money. The customer was not charged for anything during this transaction, including the inspection that we performed. We provided him with an estimate in case he wanted to come back and get the work done that our certified alignment technician recommended.
This is a tactic that disreputable auto repair shops do to create more income. They tell the customer they need parts replace that are perfectly fine. I waited in the waiting room for over an hour and several other customers were give bad news that more work needed to be done on their vehicles. Was Salem Tire Center also lying about repairs needed on their vehicles? I know for a fact there was nothing wrong with my vehicle except the camber on the front passenger side of the vehicle needed to be adjusted (an alignment). Maybe an investigation needs to be done on Salem Tire Center. I’m going to guess I’m not the first or last customer they tried to rip off.
