Salem Ramada Inn

Review: I checked into the hotel in the afternoon while on a long road trip. I was assigned a room, and discovering there was a large dog next door. I went to the front desk. Asked the manager to move my room since I needed sleep. He moved my room, and the later came to my room to tell me it was out of service and moved my room once again. The room was filthy. Paint was chipping off the walls, the carpet was held together with duct tape, and there was garbage underneath the bed. Also, there was another barking dog next door. I went to the front desk, and asked for the manager, who had already left for the day. I decided to check out, and I was refused a refund. I was given a receipt for 46 dollars, and then Charged 53 dollars on my statement. The woman at the desk also refused to give me contact info for the manager. I tried to contact him for days. Finally I contacted Howard Johnson corporate, who lodged a complaint. A month later, I still had not heard back. Finally on Jan 28th I contacted them again, and finally received a call back from manager Naveed. He offered me a 15 percent discount on a future stay. I told him that was unacceptable since I never planned to be in Salem VA again, nor would I stay at his dirty hotel again.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund
